Happy Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity!

These names of the Holy Trinity [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] give us a glimpse into the heart of the mystery of God in Himself.

And even though we don't fully grasp what they signify in God, Aquinas thinks that we should give thanks to God for the great privilege of knowing Him by name.

When the Holy Spirit comes to us, he bestows sanctifying grace on the soul, which includes the three theological virtues of faith, hope, and love.

On this Memorial Day, we remember in our prayers all those who served and sacrificed their lives. Recall the heroic witness of Fr. Leo P. Craig, O.P., a priest of the Province of St. Joseph who gave his life in service to Christ and his country during the Korean War. On April 5, 1951, just moments before offering Mass for soldiers of the 99th Field Artillery Battalion, Fr. Leo responded without hesitation to an explosion caused by a landmine. Ignoring the danger, he rushed to administer the Last Rites to an injured soldier. Seconds later, a second mine detonated, killing him and seven others.
