Congratulations, Bishop Wicker and the Third Episcopal District for blessing Wilberforce University with $100,000.00.

At Wilberforce University, commitment isn’t just spoken; it is fulfilled.
During the 2026 Commencement ceremony, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, under the leadership of Bishop Stafford J. N. Wicker, gave nearly $100,000 to support the University; an inspiring moment that reflected the deep, historic bond between the AME Church and Wilberforce.

The University also received $10,000 from other AME bishops and a substantial gift from the Wilberforce University Board Chair Nate Jenkins.

The 2026 giving ceremony was led by a distinguished group of leaders:
Bishop Stafford J. N. Wicker
Bishop Michael Mitchell
Bishop Silvester Beaman
Bishop Wilfred Messiah

In recognition of their dedicated service and enduring commitment, each bishop was honored during the ceremony, celebrating not only their leadership, but their continued investment in Wilberforce’s future.
From its founding to today, the AME Church has stood as a pillar of strength for Wilberforce University. This moment is more than a financial milestone; it is a reminder of what is possible when legacy, leadership, and love for the institution come together.
