Luther League had the pleasure of volunteering at the Kendall County Community Food Pantry this past Wednesday. We were tasked with bundling pre-prepared meals that only require being heated up in the microwave to prepare. We were able to get about 1,000 meals bundled into bags of 5!
Thursday's are pick up day for roughly 400 families at the food pantry. While our work was small potatoes in comparison to all that needs to be done, our hour of work from 4 of us saved the Thursday volunteers 4 hours of bundling work in the morning so they could be focused on getting food to families.
We highly recommend you volunteer at the food pantry! While Wednesday nights help them get a jump start on Thursday food distribution, any night or day your help is welcome and needed!
Be on the lookout for info about the next time we volunteer when we'll be asking for you all to join us so we can get even more done! -Luther League
