Don’t go looking for a fight with darkness. The apostles didn’t go hunting for darkness. When darkness interfered with God’s purposes, they confronted it. We don’t need to pick spiritual fights, provoke the enemy, or constantly declare our authority over Satan. When opposition intrudes upon what God has called us to do, we can stand firmly in the authority He has given us and trust Him to act.
Paul confronted Elymas because he was interfering with the work of God. The apostles weren’t seeking confrontation, the confrontation came because darkness opposed the mission. And Yeshua gave His disciples an important correction in Luke 10:20, “Do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Our greatest reason to rejoice isn't that demons recognize our authority. It is that we belong to God. Salvation is greater than spiritual power, Covenant relationship is greater than spiritual confrontation, and obedience to God is greater than proving our authority.
Stand where God has called you. Let Him handle the battles He brings to your doorstep.
