Lamentations 3:22 - “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
It’s a beautiful day at El Shaddai! Look at this sunrise over this wonderful place. Now, I have had the pleasure of traveling all over this big blue biosphere and I can say, without bias, that a Texas sunrise is one of the best. When my wonderful dog, Sparkie, was still alive, I’d get up on my days off and take her for a early morning walk. It was always hard to get out of bed and get the motivation to go, but once I did, I really enjoyed myself. We’d walk, I would talk to her and I would talk to God. My days were always better when I took that time to enjoy our Father’s creation. When I see the sun rise, it reminds me of new beginnings. I find that I am filled with hope that light has been shed on a new day, with new possibilities and new potential. The past has been put to rest and a new day has dawned. I have a new slate to make good choices and be a positive impact for the Kingdom.
Let’s face it, sometimes things look bleak. Whatever we may be dealing with can seem like never-ending darkness. It’s it amazing to know that the sun will rise again. Even Judah, when going through deep despair, not even close to knowing when the pain and destruction would end, knew that beautiful sun would rise again. With their faith, they knew God was faithful and He would always be there.
I have those times of darkness and yes, it often looks like it will never end, and yes, I have struggled at times wondering if I’d see the dawn of a new day. It is during those times, I have to push forward, knowing that the sun will rise again. We all experience darkness but we know our God is loving and his compassion and faithfulness are never-ending. You may struggle now, but believe me when I say, the sun will rise!
When I am in a time of bleak darkness, and it seems that there is no way out, I often struggle to see the dawn of a new day. It is then that I really need to push my faith to the front and say, 'I can not see any light at this point in time, but I know the sun will rise again.' There may be no sign of dawn in sight but I hold to the experiences from my past when I have not been left in darkness. We all experience times of darkness but our faith teaches us that God is loving, His compassion and faithfulness is new every morning. You may not be able to see it now, but believe that the sun will rise.
