Hello Olde Yorke Parishioners,
During this season of Lent, we are doing a can food drive for one of our local food banks. We reached out to The York County Church Women United Food Closet and here is what they are most in need of:

-Crackers (preferably saltines or any type that come with individual packaging they can divide up)
-Any Canned Meat (canned tuna, canned chicken, canned sausages, spam etc.)
-Canned Pasta (ones that are already prepared like Chef Boyardee or Beef Ravioli type meals)
-Canned Fruit

We will be doing this each Sunday in Lent starting this Sunday, March 13. There will be a box by when you walk in with a note that says "Can Food Drive." Here you can drop your contribution. We will deliver it around Easter.

Due to the rising gas prices that seem to have no end in sight, food banks are now in more need than ever. I look forward to your donations in advance!

Yours in Christ,
-NH

Don’t forget to fast and abstain on Wednesday.

Prayers, service, sacrifice.

As the Delta variant of COVID starts circulating, the government has made some changes to accessing Federal buildings. Earlier this week an All Coast Guard (ALCOAST) message #218 was sent out and will change how everyone participates in the Chapel. The ALCOAST requires anyone entering a Coast Guard building (not the base) to provide proof of full vaccination for COVID or a negative COVID test within the past 72 hours.

Everyone is still required to wear a mask in the building regardless of their vaccination status.

Please note, you will not be asked for proof of vaccination or negative test at the front gate. The duty watchstander for the Chapel will require it to enter the Chapel, effective immediately.

For folks who do not want to get the vaccination, please get the test (and be negative).

As we have seen over the past year, the situation is always evolving. Email your questions to [email protected] and have a great day!

The government requires folks to wear a mask inside any federal building so please bring a mask for Mass. This is applies to everyone, COVID vaccinated or not.
