As believers in Jesus, the Bible refers to us as saints. We are redeemed. We are holy, set apart. We are sanctified through his blood. Unbelievers are known as fools. They are lost. Today’s bible reading is from Philippians chapter 4.

Verse 8: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

By using the words brothers and sisters, we know that Paul is talking to believers. That means you and me. We are to hold on to these attributes as we walk our Christian life. By holding these values in our hearts, we become witnesses for Christ. Since we live in a fallen world it’s hard to focus on the things, however when we do we find peace, love, and comfort. Try walking in these qualities, ya never know it may just change your life.

Father, thank you for your word. Let us focus on it. Amen.

Today’s bible reading is from Philippians chapter 3.

Verse 21: who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

“So they will be like His glorious body”. This is a promise from God. When we die we will no longer be a in body that gets sick or that hurts. We will be sin free, so we will be pleasing God. We will have a spiritual body that will be incorruptible. We will be incorruptible, both in a physical way, but more importantly in a spiritual way. God never ever breaks his promises, so we have that guarantee. That guarantee is our hope for eternal life. How better our lives are than those that don’t believe. The unbelievers don’t have the promise or the hope that we have. How sad that is.

Father, Your word comforts us. Let the unbelieving world come to salvation in Jesus Christ. Amen

Today’s bible reading is from Romans chapter 12.

Verse 15: Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

I try to live my life by this verse. This verse is why we try to maintain our prayer chain as much as possible. We want others to grow closer to God and each other. By having others grow closer to each other we can pray more specifically for each other. I tell people all the time to find a good church and then become a member of that church family. It will make a big difference in your life if become involved. So pray for those that it, and rejoice with those that are rejoicing.

Father, often we only come to You when things are bad. Let us also praise you when things are good. Amen.

Today’s bible reading is from John chapter 14.

Verse 6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

“I am the truth”. The word truth is used in the Bible over 200 times. God will repeat things to emphasize it’s important to Him. To use the word truth that much, shows how important it is to God. In this verse we have the truth of Jesus Christ being the way to be saved. We have the truth that no matter what your emotions tell you, the truth will always come first. We also have the fact that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. So stand in the truth of God’s promises.

Father, let your word comfort us as we go about our day. Amen.
