Join us this evening at 6:30 in the Youth Room for the final week of "Metanoia at the Movies," our prayerful Lenten film series exploring repentance! Tonight's movie is The Fisher King, starring Robin Williams.
🍿Can watching movies be a spiritual practice? This Lent, let’s find out! Repentance, conversion, turning away from our sin and idols and back towards God—ideas often described in the New Testament by the Greek word metanoia—are hallmarks of the Lenten season. They’re also, either implicitly or explicitly, themes in many great works of cinema. Join us on select Friday evening during Lent as we watch a curated selection of films together, discuss the ways repentance is explored on-screen, and close with a time of prayer inspired by the themes of the film. Come discover how movies can be tools that God uses to spur us towards repentance and draw us closer to God. Popcorn and candy will be provided!
