First Baptist Church of York The people of the First Baptist Church of York, like the first disciples of Jesus - imperfect yet loved - define themselves as followers of Christ.

This is a church steeped in history. Originally, this church was organized as the Yorkville Baptist Church in 1866. Interestingly, 2 of the 15 charter members of the church were former slaves. The present and quite historic sanctuary was dedicated on January 10, 1892. This is a congregation proud of her heritage. However, the body of believers at the First Baptist Church of York do not define them

selves by history. Instead, the people of the First Baptist Church of York, like the first disciples of Jesus - imperfect yet loved - define themselves as followers of Christ.

Homecoming is this weekend! First Baptist Church is celebrating 160 years of doing the same thing, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ each and every single week as we gather.

We will eat as a church family after our morning gathering. We ask that you bring a side/dessert to share with everyone. There will be a special Homecoming offering that will be designated to Building and Grounds as well.

It will be a special day - but also and incredibly normal as we come together to sing, pray, and sit underneath the preaching of God's Word. We hope to see you soon!
