We invite you to share in our purpose of praising Christ as our Savior, sharing in His love, meeting and growing in Christian fellowship, and serving the community and world in His name. After Labor Day weekend we will be back to two services: 8:00AM and 10:30AM

*The brick graffiti wall symbolizes the strength of a community built stone by stone, brick by brick. Though bricks are shaped by human hands and stones by the earth itself, together they remind us that God works through both the natural and the crafted to build sacred spaces. Each week, a new word will be added, proclaiming God’s presence in our life together and marking this wall as a holy witness to faith. Thank you to the altarscape team for their visioning and sharing of gifts to make our Sanctuary space a beautiful offering to God in this season: Jodi Bender, Danika Dallam, Cindy Hogentogler, Barb Neff, & Melody Stine

As we continue our series on Sacred Stones: Building Faith in the Places God Meets Us, this week we look to how God is present and building something holy in Spaces of Community. We ask this week that you bring a rock from home to share as an offering with the church.

We invite you to join us this Sunday as we join in the United Church of Christ in participating in Neighbor's in Need Sunday. As we gather around the world to share in God's meal this World Wide Communion Sunday, may we extend our generosity to the mission of the UCC that reaches out to meet our neighbors in need.

Friends,

We’re getting eerily close to Halloween and you know what that means for our Mt. Zion families? It’s time to find the best Halloween costume… for your car!

This year’s Trunk or Treat is on Sunday, October 26th from 5-6 PM and promises all the creativity and enthusiasm of years past: a prize for the best trunk, a Target gift card for one tiny Trick or Treater, lots of good natured competition, candy galore and salty snacks.

We ask that you avoid nut products in respect to those with allergies. Also, because this year’s event is scheduled the week after Oktoberfest, we will not be serving hotdogs, but we will have packaged snacks available.

As you are scrolling we ask that you take a moment to pause and pray with us for the police officers shot this afternoon in York County--both for the 3 who lost their lives and for the 2 two who were taken to York Hospital for care.
----------------------------------------------------------------

God of mercy and might,
hold your people close this night as we mourn, worry, and wait.

We give thanks for those who put themselves in harm’s way to protect York County and keep us safe. We lament the losses and injuries brought by today’s unfathomable violence.

Grant steady hands and deep wisdom to the doctors and nurses who care for the injured. Make your presence unmistakably known to all who sit in unimaginable grief.

Surround our first responders with your protection as they continue to serve, even while carrying the weight of this day in their hearts.

In your most gracious name we pray.
Amen.
