Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York Nurture Your Spirit, Help Heal Our World! Some call us "heretics," and they are right. If you want to know more, come and check us out on a Sunday morning!

The word heretic comes from the Greek word hairetikos which means ‘able to choose’. We will welcome you warmly, but will not attempt to convert or recruit you - promise!

This Sunday🕯️"The Courage to Become" led by Rev. Christin Green

There comes a moment when life asks us to let go—and trust what is unfolding next. Drawing on music, story, and the spirit of Pride, we’ll explore the tender, powerful journey of becoming, and how we make space for one another to flourish. Join us to celebrate our departing music director, Gretchen Dekker.

This Sunday🕯️"Stories That Refuse to Die" led by Rev. Christin Green

As we mark Memorial Day, we explore the power of stories that endure across generations. Drawing on The Martyrs Mirror and other traditions of remembrance, this service reflects on courage, conscience, and the ways memory shapes who we become. Some stories refuse to disappear because they continue to ask something of us.

This Sunday🕯️"Hope for Humanity and Beyond" Led by Guest Speaker Joshua Long

The Artemis II crew spent 10 days on a historic mission around the moon. On their return, they expressed gratitude for the Earth and the human family they are a part of. If humanity has the ability to fly to the moon and potentially build a moonbase, then what other miraculous things could we achieve? In the face of catastrophic climate change, AI overtake, and nuclear war, Artemis II Astronaut Christina Koch’s gives us a reason to place our hope in humankind. This service draws on the out-of-this-world experiences of the Artemis II crew and challenges our belief in what is possible, potentially giving us reason to find hope in humanity and beyond.

This Sunday🕯️"Like a Mother" Led by Rev. Christin Green

On Mother’s Day, we turn to Mother Nature as a sacred source of wisdom and care. Through music and reflection we explore what the living earth teaches about nurture, belonging, and interconnection. What might it mean to see the world itself as a kind of mother?
