LifeStation Communities

LifeStation Communities We are a community of faith that is learning how to share both our faith and life with others. We want to be more than a church service that people attend.

We are creating communities where followers of Jesus, curious explorers, and everyone in between come together to build genuine friendships and have meaningful conversations as we share faith and life together. Our desire is to be a network of LifeStation Communities spread out all across York county. We want to be multi-cultural, multi-generational and multi-economic. Our LifeStation Communities

want to provide a safe place for people to discover that faith and life can be shared even if you don't always agree. Our LifeStation Communities gather throughout the week and can often be found hosting connection events and parties. LifeStation also has a church worship gathering that is focused on equipping followers of Jesus to declare a different way to live life. We view our worship gathering as a place of Spiritual Formation and a launching point for God's mission. Our Worship gathering happens at 6pm the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sunday night of the month and all are welcome. We are currently meeting at York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Road. If you consider us to be your Community of Faith (Church) ask to join our closed group where we update prayer request and communicate Church gatherings.

When scripture doesn’t align

Twice a month, I gather with people from my workplace and the community to discover what the Bible says, and how it might impact our lives. Recently, we read Psalm 121: “My help comes from the Lord…

When Faith Becomes Life Giving

When you are in the middle of a battle cancer car crashes relationship messes it is a gift to be able to turn to God. Scripture and worship songs begin to take on a deeper meaning. Words you may have read or sung a hundred times suddenly feel different. They become life giving. The sickness disease and heartache we face today may look different than what we read about in Scripture but the human suffering is the same and God is the same....

Is this true of you?

Let no evil talk come out of your mouths…..

We are focused on learning:
What does this text say about: Humanity, God, Jesus. If it’s true what is the impact. What should I do?

Why?

Why so much pain, suffering, hate, and death?

The question why seems to echo loudest when we’re hurting—when life doesn’t make sense.

Why? I don’t known for sure, but I believe this: it’s not because of God.

Scripture says God is not the ruler of this world. He is the Creator, the Sustainer, and the Hope of what’s to come. But for now, evil has power here.

“The whole world lies under the power of the evil one.” – 1 John 5:19

“The ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me.” – John 14:30

When bad things happen, we often doubt God or even blame Him. But when bad things happen—God comes looking for us.

From the beginning, when sin entered the world, God came searching. Later, He sent Jesus to show us another way. Jesus healed, gave hope, and even raised the dead—proving that death won’t have the final word.

Evil exists, but God is our hope.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.” – Psalm 34:18

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

I can’t explain every “why,” but I believe with all my heart that God works all things together for good.
God is good. God is faithful.
And Jesus has already defeated sin, sickness, and the grave.

When your “why” doesn’t make sense—seek Him. He will guide to peace.

Today’s scripture focuses on the very passage I mention on my personal FB Post. What does it mean to become a slave to all for the sake of the gospel?

Right now in this moment what are the implications of this text. “I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some.”

How would Paul treat the right or the left? How would Paul treat those struggling with gender identity issues? How would he respond to the immigrants?

What stance would he take and which ones would he walk away from so that he could proclaim the gospel to others? May we, in our freedom to chose, chose to live in such away that the gospel is proclaimed to all!

Jesus’ command is clear: “Go and make disciples.”

But as John Mark Comer notes, the Greek can also be read as “as you are going.”

He writes:
“For some, this is a call to get on planes and travel to unreached people groups. But for most of us, it’s simply a call to walk across the street, ride one’s bike down the block, or make eye contact with the grocery checker. As you are going about your ordinary life, live with your eyes wide open to see what the Father is doing all around you, and then partner with Him.”

This is discipleship in real life. Ordinary moments. Eternal impact.

But when we live this way, darkness notices.
“The man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all…” (Acts 19:16)

Still, followers of Jesus are called to be faithful—wherever life has stationed us.

Will you join me in following Jesus today?

Turning the world upside down!

This morning as I read Acts 17 the words made me think about what I see happening with those in their late teens and early 20’s.

“These people who have been turning the world upside down…They are all acting contrary to the decrees of the emperor, saying that there is another king named Jesus.”

If you’re not aware of what God is doing in the Next Generation, I encourage you to do some research. It’s going to look different than it did years ago, but Jesus is still drawing people to himself as Lord and King.

I pray that is the encounter Jesus that they would turn the world upside down!

Missing the Opportunity
Today as I read the Scriptures, I’m reminded that God has invited each of us to take part in what He is doing in the world. He’s throwing a banquet—and you’re on the guest list.

But are we too distracted to accept the invitation?
• Caught up in our hobbies?
• Consumed by work?
• Or even thinking we know better than God and His messengers, choosing to reject the call?

Do we realize what we’re being invited to? Are we willing to prepare— to clothe ourselves properly for the occasion— or do we assume that showing up “as we are” is enough, without any effort to be made ready?

God gives us the opportunity every single day to respond to Him. Let’s not miss it. Let’s prepare ourselves to show up in a way that allows us not only to enter, but to remain at the feast.

Today we gathered for a Discovery Bible and looked at Matthew 18:21-19:2 which focused on forgiveness.

So many insights were shared. One first time guest said God made it clear to him that he had some unforgiveness in his heart towards his wife. He said this was creating a barrier in their marriage. We discovered that Jesus heard peoples questions and didn't just speak truth, but know how to relate to them with a story.

Many followers of Jesus do not know how to relate to those not yet following Jesus. LifeStation is encouraging people to follow Jesus as you share faith and life with others!

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant - Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a k...

I have chosen the way of faithfulness.

Have you been faithful?

Faithful to what?

You. Your gifts and abilities. Your family and friends. Your job and the responsibilities you have been given?

Your God who loves you with all His heart.

Daily we should be confessing we have fallen short, and thanking God for not giving up on us. Pursue God. He is worthy of your faithfulness.
