The church can trace a strong commitment to courageous action in answering God’s Call from its earliest days when BSPC was founded on the Christian principle opposing slavery. The church, even with the strong stated opposition to the human bo***ge of slavery, has over 30 Confederate War Veterans buried alongside one union soldier and many African American slaves in the church cemetery. Through fai
th in God, the church weathered the unpopular stance opposing slavery, the hard years of reconstruction, the wars of the twentieth century, The Great Depression and to this day remains a strong healthy congregation living for today’s service to our Lord but excited about a coming promise through Jesus Christ. Today, the Beth Shiloh congregation remains a vibrant community of Christian believers who worship together, learn together, give together, grieve together, play together, and experience the miracles of God together. Our Church upholds the Bible as the Word of God as a true witness to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a faithful community we uphold our congregation Baptismal vows to nurture our children by providing strong Christian Education classes from toddlers to high school through young adult. In addition to Sunday morning activities we have Wonderful Wednesdays with a community supper and targeted programming. Beth Shiloh is truly an inter-generational church with over seven Christian Education adult classes each week, plus strong Presbyterian Women, and the hard to catch senior “Movin’ on Club.” Our church community gives thanks for the vitality of its youthful members while cherishing and honoring the wisdom of our seniors. Our professional and lay leadership delivers inspiring music, Bible based Christian Education programming, strong mission opportunities and the challenge to explore who God is calling us each to be, both individually and corporately. We are a welcoming congregation always looking to bring into communion new faces, explore new ideas, and find new ways to honor and praise our Lord.
