Welcome
Incorporated as a non-profit public cemetery on August 26, 1872, Lebanon Cemetery Cemetery is a peaceful resting place located 2 miles north of York City on the 1400 block of North George Street. It is the largest and one of the oldest African American cemeteries in York County, Pennsylvania.
Our Past
The original charter members and first Board of Directors of Lebanon Cemetery were: Anthony Drowery, Alexander McKinney, Isaac Gooden, James Smallwood, Richard S. Wilson, James Spangler, Thomas Cyrus, Alfred Burton, and George Washington, Sr.
Our Present
Lebanon Cemetery Company board of directors reorganized in September of 2019. The board continues to work diligently to continue the work of making Lebanon Cemetery a place of beauty and remembrance, worthy of the precious memories that the families of York entrust to us.

Be an individual of at least 18 years of age
Ability and willingness to work effectively and collaboratively in a group
Professionalism
Willingness and ability to commit the necessary time to fulfill responsibilities effectively
Experience and/or knowledge of nonprofit financial literacy
Experience and/or knowledge of nonprofit governance (Robert’s Rule of Order)
