Ends of the Earth Ministries shares the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who have never before heard His name. We focus 100% of our efforts to complete the great commission among totally unreached people. Currently, we are working in South Sudan among frontier tribes. Through mainly national missionaries we have been able to bring a culturally relevant Gospel message to previously closed and hostile people.

In our past update, we shared that government and rebel forces waged a scorched earth campaign in the region where our national missionaries are living among the Ifuto, forcing everyone to flee into the mountains for protection while all of their homes, livestock, and crops were destroyed in the fighting. The initial wave of violence has subsided. But there are still pockets of skirmishes. We are presently working closely with the Ifuto to bring spiritual and physical relief to this devastating situation. Thank you to all of you that have prayed and donated to bring the love of Jesus to these precious people.

Happy New Year from our children’s home in South Sudan! The children loved celebrating Christmas and New Year with a party they hosted for their relatives and the local community. They performed songs and dances, recited scripture passages and killed a cow to share a meal with all who attended. We are praising God for all He is doing in the lives of these young ones. Thank you to all of you who help sponsor their Christian education and make this ministry possible.

Urgent Prayer Update!
The Government soldiers are actively bombing the rebel stronghold.
Thankfully our missionaries and 25 tribal members, mostly women and children, have been able to continually evade the fighting. They have been climbing through a mountainous area for days with little food and water. If all goes well they hope to reach a safe zone by tomorrow.
Please continue to pray for their safety.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God Reigns.” Isaiah 52:7

Three of our South Sudanese missionaries have fled with the local tribe they are reaching, into the mountains, as rebels are in an active gun battle with government soldiers. The shots were first heard in the distance and seemed to be getting closer, so everybody is fleeing into the mountains. Please continue to pray for the tribal members and our missionaries.

New mattresses and beds for the children’s home in Narus, South Sudan! The children’s excitement was palpable as the new mattresses were unloaded off the huge truck. Tiny hands squeezed the mattresses and giggles and chatter could be heard through the compound. Most Taposa and Tauso people will never have the opportunity to sleep on a mattress. What we take for granted here in America, is an incredible luxury in South Sudan. We are thankful for the recent generator and welding machine the ministry purchased so that metal bunkbed frames can be made on sight. We are blessed to witness how God is changing the lives of these children in the home and giving them passionate hearts for Him.

Cattle are everything to the Mundari people. In South Sudan, it’s very common for innocent women and children to be killed in the chaos surrounding disagreements over grazing lands for cattle. In this past week, our missionaries living among the Mundari have reported that the surrounding four tribes have been engaged in gun battles and 8 people have been killed and another 18 injured.

- Please pray that God will bring peace and transform a long held worldview of warfare and selfishness.
- Pray for the people of Nyika-bor (where our missionaries live) not to get involved in the fighting.
-Pray for open hearts to hear and respond to the gospel.

These little ones are so happy to be in school and are writing thank you letters to their sponsors. Our child sponsorship program is changing the lives of over 1000 Sudanese children by providing them with a Christian education and the hope of a future. During this updating process, general questions about their home situation, health and how they are doing in school are asked. Then after their letters to their sponsors are written, each child is prayed over before they return to class. Thank you to those who sponsor these children for $15 a month- it makes all the difference in the world to a child in need.

Urgent prayer: missionary family flees on foot from war. William and our national missionary team have been living among the Koma tribe for three years. The gospel has been effectively communicated and a vibrant church is growing. This unreached people group had been animists, led by witch doctors and lived in constant fear of evil spirits. That has now changed as hundreds of Koma have placed their faith in Jesus and have forsaken their demonic practices.
However, as the political unrest in South Sudan is pushing the nation into civil war, many Koma have been forced to scatter with more than 10,000 people having now fled to Ethiopia. Among them are EOTE missionaries William and his wife Jackline. With their two young children and several church members, they set out on the four day hike through the hills that separate South Sudan and Ethiopia. The arduous final bit of their journey required them to climb a large mountain to reach safety. They were welcomed, given shelter and are now recovering with our Ethiopian church family. As the Koma are relocating to this area, William and his wife will continue to evangelize and disciple them in their exile in Ethiopia.
Please pray for the Koma that have been displaced and scattered throughout South Sudan and Ethiopia, that God would use them to spread his word wherever they settle. Pray for protection for all of South Sudan during this time of war, fighting and instability.
