Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001.
We remember the lives that were lost, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the first responders, firefighters, police officers, military personnel, and ordinary citizens who displayed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
Twenty-five years later, we have not forgotten.
As a church, we also remember where our hope is found. In moments of tragedy, uncertainty, and sorrow, we look to Jesus Christ—the One who draws near to the brokenhearted and remains our refuge and strength.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
Today, we pray for the families who still carry the weight of that day, for our first responders and military, and for our nation. May we never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the unity that arose in the days that followed.
We remember. We honor. We pray. 🇺🇸

Our culture often mistakes compassion for a lack of confrontation, believing empathy means never challenging truth or holding others accountable. But true love and compassion include correction and justice, not just understanding. Remember, empathy without accountability is complicity, not compassion.
