WHEN FOLLOWING JESUS GETS HARD
Matthew 10:21–33

Most people expect that following Jesus will make life easier.

But Jesus says something different. He tells His disciples that there will be challenges, opposition, and moments when faithfulness is not easy. Yet in the middle of those difficult words, Jesus gives an even greater promise: "Do not be afraid." How can Christians face uncertainty, rejection, suffering, and fear with confidence? Because our hope is not in ourselves. Our hope is in Christ, who suffered, died, and rose again for us. The road of discipleship may pass through the cross, but it always leads to the empty tomb. Join us this Sunday as we hear Jesus' encouraging words from Matthew 10:21–33 and discover why we can keep following Him even when life gets hard.

Joining Christ in His Harvest.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest..." — Matthew 9:37–38

In Matthew 9:35–10:8, Jesus reminds us that the harvest is plentiful and that His Church has a mission—not merely to fill a building, but to pray, be present, care for others, and point people to Christ.

Sometimes the greatest witness is simply showing up: gathering around God's Word, encouraging one another, welcoming visitors, and praying for the work of the Gospel. May God give us eyes to see what Jesus sees and hearts filled with His compassion.

"PROMISE, NOT PERFORMANCE"
Pentecost 2 Romans 4:13 - 25

Have you ever wondered if God has forgotten you? Have you ever waited and prayed, only to feel like nothing is happening?
This Sunday, we hear the story of Abraham, who trusted God's promise even when everything seemed impossible.
Romans 4 reminds us that our hope is not based on our performance, but on God's promise fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
When life feels uncertain, God's promises remain sure.

Christ was delivered for our trespasses.
Christ was raised for our justification.
God's promise is for you.

“Come to Me and Drink.”

Sometimes the problem is not that we are thirsty. The problem is that we keep drinking from the wrong wells. Success. Approval. Busyness. Comfort. Even religion without Christ can leave the soul dry. Jesus says: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” — John 7:37

On Pentecost, we remember that Christ gives the Holy Spirit to thirsty sinners—not to point us to ourselves, but to Him, the true Fountain of life. Come thirsty. Come tired. Come as you are. The invitation still stands: “Come to Me and drink.”

Join us this Pentecost as we hear Christ’s invitation and receive His gifts in Word and Sacrament.

Ascension Sunday (Observed)

He is not gone - but reigning!
Why do you stand looking into heaven? — Acts 1:11
Ascension is not the story of Christ abandoning His Church.
It is the story of Christ reigning for His Church. The crucified and risen Lord now reigns at the right hand of the Father — not distant, not absent, but ruling all things for the good of His people. The same hands stretched upon the cross now rule heaven and earth.

Join us this Ascension Sunday as we hear the comfort and hope of Christ’s reign.

"My Sheep Hear My Voice" Fourth Sunday of Easter John 10:1 - 10

There are so many voices in our lives. Voices that tell us who we should be… what we’re missing… what we need to fix. But Jesus says: “My sheep hear My voice… I am the door.” (John 10) Not every voice leads to life. Some lead you deeper into fear. Some lead you back to yourself.
Jesus' is a voice that knows you, a voice that calls you by name, a voice that leads you not into confusion… but through Him into life.
The Shepherd is calling you.

Our monthly food pantry—held every last Saturday—is not built on large organizations, but on the simple offerings of our members.

It may not be big, but it reflects a community that cares for its neighbors—one bag, one meal, one act of love at a time.

“If anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart… how does God’s love abide in him?” (1 John 3:17)
