There is a difference between reading God’s Word & abiding in God’s Word. 📖🙏

Many people read a chapter, check the box, & move on with their day.

But abiding is different.

Abiding means bringing God’s Word into every part of life. It means thinking about it, meditating on it, praying through it, & allowing it to shape your decisions, attitudes, & actions moment by moment.

When we abide in Scripture, it becomes an ongoing conversation between God & us. He speaks through His Word, & we respond with faith, obedience, repentance, worship, & prayer.... Over & over & over & over...His truth guides us through every circumstance we face.

Jesus said: "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples." — John 8:31

The psalmist wrote: "His delight is in the law of the LORD, & on his law he meditates day & night." — Psalm 1:2

Don't settle for merely reading the Bible. Abide in it. Carry it with you throughout the day. Let it renew your mind, direct your steps, & draw you closer to Christ.

The goal isn't simply to get through God's Word. The goal is for God's Word to get through us. -Katie

He came to be our Saviour. Our Sacrifice. Our Substitute. Our

The danger of many churches ⛪️ today is unintentionally training people to approach Christianity like consumers.

Find the church with the best music.
Best kids ministry.
Best coffee.
Best preacher.
Best atmosphere.
Best experience.

And once the experience no longer satisfies them, they move on to the next option.

The New Testament never speaks to believers as consumers shopping for religious goods & services. NEVER.

It speaks to them as citizens of a kingdom.

Servants of a King.
Members of a body.
Living stones in a temple.
Brothers & sisters in a covenant family.

Consumers ask: “What am I getting?” Citizens ask: “What am I building?”

Consumers leave when preferences are not met. Citizens stay because they belong to something larger than themselves.

The church was never supposed to function like a religious marketplace competing for attention in the economy of preferences.

The church was meant to be an outpost of the kingdom of God in the middle of a fallen world🙏 -James Bell

The message of the cross will always sound foolish to those who are perishing, because it tells proud man the one thing he refuses to hear: he cannot save himself‼️

The cross destroys every boast. It tells the religious man that his works cannot justify him. It tells the moral man that his goodness cannot cleanse him. It tells the intellectual man that his wisdom cannot reach God. It tells the broken sinner that mercy is real, but only through the blood of Christ.

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).

That is why the gospel does not need to be dressed up to look wise before the world. The cross is already the wisdom of God, though men call it foolishness. It is already the power of God, though men call it weakness.

At the cross, sin was judged, wrath was satisfied, mercy was purchased, righteousness was fulfilled, & guilty sinners were reconciled to God.

The world may mock it. The proud may stumble over it. The perishing may call it foolish.

But to those being saved, the cross is life, power, wisdom, mercy, & glory. -Jeremiah Knight

✍️"Correction is not rejection. It's love in its most honest form"

It’s easy to love a sermon when it comforts you, when it speaks to your emotions, when it feels uplifting & relatable.

But Scripture was never given just to comfort—it was given to correct, to confront, & to transform.

The danger is not in loving encouragement, but in only loving what agrees with you. Because the moment God’s Word challenges your choices, your desires, or your mindset—that’s where true foundation is revealed.

Correction is not rejection. It is love in its most honest form. But if correction consistently offends you more than it convicts you, it may be exposing something deeper: a heart that has grown more anchored in feelings than in truth.

God doesn’t speak to entertain us, He speaks to change us. Maturity in faith is seen not in how loudly we say “amen,” but in how quietly we surrender when the Word says “adjust.” -Salt & Light
