Romans 14:12 "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

That is a short verse, but it carries a serious reminder for every Christian, young and old alike. In today's world it is easy to blame others for our choices. We may blame friends, school, social media, culture, or even family. This verse reminds us that one day we will answer for our own.

That truth should not make us live in fear, but it should challenge us to live with purpose. The choices we make now matter. The music we listen to, the words we speak, the way we treat people, and the kind of example we set, all reveal what is in our hearts.

As young Christians, it can be difficult to stand apart from the crowd. Sometimes doing what is right means being different. Romans 14:12 reminds us that pleasing God is more important than pleasing people. At the end of the day, the opinions of others will not matter, but our obedience to Christ will always matter. This verse is also a reminder that our relationship with God is personal. Going to Church, having Christian parents, or being part of a youth group is not enough by itself. Each of us must choose to follow Christ daily and take responsibility for our walk with Him. A good question to ask ourselves is this: If I had to give an account to God today, would I be proud of the life I am living? None of us are perfect, but through Jesus Christ we can find forgiveness, strength, and direction to live for Him each day.

As a church family lets encourage one another to stay faithful, make wise choices, and live in a way that honors God while we remember that one day we will each give an account for every word ever spoken and every action we've ever taken.
