I’m guilty of this. You get to the end of the week and wonder where all the time went. It’s a blur.

I read today that there is a difference between ACTIVITY and ACCOMPLISHMENT. We can easily get wrapped up in staying busy instead of focused on doing things that really mean something.

Happy Monday! Go out there and live with intentionality and purpose this week.

Normal goes with the flow. Normal never questions anything. Normal is expected by much of society.

But when we live lives of purpose, love, service, faith and integrity we have to challenge the norms around us. And when we do this, when we travel a path unique to us and our purpose, this makes us stand out. When we stand out from the herd it is easy for those around us to take notice.

With that, go out there and make a difference in someone’s day!

I want to share just a little encouragement with you today.
The poor choices or unfortunate circumstances of yesterday do affect our tomorrow, BUT they don’t define us!

Learn from the negative, grow and celebrate the positives. And when you can’t seem to do either or both of those things allow yourself grace. Another chance.

Strive for more perfection in tenacity and less perfection in outcomes.

Hope you find this worth reflecting on a little. God bless.

…OK, we really never left.

My wife and I co-lead our Missional Community here in Yakima, and I mainly handle our online presence. Like you, this past 12+ months of pandemic and social stress has been incredibly challenging.

BUT, we are back now and ready to continue our online engagement with YOU!

DM or comment. How are you doing now that some aspects of COVID life are improving?

Recently, my wife and I headed out on a road trip for a ministry training in L.A. from where we live in WA state. We got to the Oregon Coast and discovered the training had been canceled.

We were looking forward to the extra time together, seeing friends while in CA, and finally meeting our learning cohort in person.

The pivot!

- We extended our stay on the OR Coast for some much needed rejuvenation & reflection.
- We were able to make a last minute trip to Seattle to visit my brother.
- We even went back down to the Portland, OR area overnight for a vacation bookend of outlet shopping & adventure.

The lesson we learned? Never simply assume that when God puts a blockade in your path that he’s not simultaneously making a detour available with a completely new destination.

The pandemic is teaching us to try new things, to be flexible in planning our days, and discover new ways to rest & refuel.

How about YOU? How are you changing things up in a world of social distancing, Zoom calls, face coverings, and hand sanitizer?

If you’re like me, reminders like this are needed often. Our circumstances, emotions, and even faith constantly change. BUT, Jesus is consistently good!

Having a great day? Thank him for that.

Having one of the worst days of your life? Do your best to thank him anyway for the life you have. Today may be difficult but better days are ahead.

COVID-related question.
How have you been able to stay connected with some form of COMMUNITY recently while still social distancing?

Today, we celebrate and acknowledge the highest example of selfless love in human history. Jesus came in the form of a man, full knowing that he would eventually die on a cross for YOU and me. This was the only way to reconcile our broken relationship with our creator, God. LOVE drew him to the cross, not obligation.

'But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.' - Isaiah 53:5

It's been way to long since we've posted anything here. Now is a great time to start.

Hey Yakima Valley community, let's be sure to support our locally owned businesses as long as we are able during this COVID-19 pandemic. Here's a link that is keeping tabs on businesses that are still open https://yakima365.com/ We're all in this together. How we weather this storm will be determined by how well we pull together and creatively serve each other.

For locals, newcomers, and out-of-towners alike, Yakima365 highlights local businesses, events, and people that center around our shared values: positivity, generosity, excellence, innovation, inclusivity, and partnership. We are everyday Yakima folks with hearty not-for-sale opinions.

I'm really looking forward to reflecting on Easter this Sunday with our faith family.
How will YOU recognize Easter this weekend?

One thing we are very passionate about is creating public awareness regarding healthy communities. We believe in getting to know our neighbors, hosting block parties, and helping each other out.

The Yakima Valley is our city.... it's your city. Let's link arms together and work hard to show the rest of Washington how amazing our people are.
