Rick and Karen Rogers - Athletes in Action Co-management of content and administration of AIA's Team Blogs, and the associated Team Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages

Co-management of content and administration of goaia.org, AIA's Team Blogs, AO1 Facebook and Twitter pages. In order to reach those under 40 with the gospel or pursue/equip those in the sports world, you must do it digitally. If you don’t exist on websites, social media or email, you don’t exist to those under 40! When people have questions, they find answers through “Google” or through relationsh

ips on social media. Digital communication is the 21st century equivalent to the Gutenberg Press in fulfilling the Great Commission. AIA has much to develop in the area of digital and web communications and God has given Rick a passion to help shepherd this journey. As with all we do, it's for the sake of the gospel. By partnering with our ministry you will be playing a vital role in helping me (Rick) to:

*Support the communications of 12 different AIA ministry teams serving in the US and internationally

*Giving voice to 30 - 40 AIA domestic and internal projects to share God's work through them each year

*Assist in sharing God's love and message of salvation with countless athletes, coaches, trainers, and sports fans all over the world

Karen role is an editor and writer for AIA's communications group utilizing her God-given talent for communicating. She loves to tell the stories of sports heroes and fans who are walking with God and how they are encouraging others to put their faith in Him.

30 Minutes from Prayer to Provision

The power of the gospel exploded in Puerto Rico this spring break! Daniel, an Texas AIA staff member I had the privilege of coaching, led a team of staff and students from TX and OH to serve alongside our Puerto Rico AIA ministry. In one unforgettable week, they courageously shared the gospel with 151 student athletes, witnessing a phenomenal response as 50 people surrendered their lives to Jesus!...

The Beautiful Game on Forbidden Fields

A young staff member I’m coaching recently led a mission team of 18 to North Africa (to a country that hasn’t hosted an AIA team since around 2009). Her reflections: From the very beginning, it was clear that this trip would be both significant and stretching. For many of our team, this was a completely new ministry context. We were in an extremely secure country where open proclamation of the Gospel is not possible in the ways we’re often accustomed to....

From transferred players to transferred lives

Abby is a young woman I am coaching who is serving with Athletes in Action at the University of Minnesota Duluth and the University of Wisconsin Superior. God is doing incredible work in the lives of student athletes at both of these campuses. Here are a few of the highlights Abby shares: We recently welcomed two former AIA members (who now play professionally) back to campus to encourage and inspire our athletes....

Two young women I coach took athletes to AIA’s high-intensity Ultimate Training Camp (UTC), where athletes learn to integrate their faith and sports. Katie has attended UTC as a camper, intern, athletic trainer, and as AIA staff, and this year she got to take students she is ministering to. Abby also had several students from her campus who attended UTC. Read how God worked in their lives through UTC:...

Dear friends, A couple of weeks ago, Rick and I were playing pickleball with friends when Rick suddenly didn’t feel well. He could tell that his heart rate had dropped and he just felt off. We went to the ER and consulted with a doctor there who said, “From just looking at you and talking to you, I might ask you why you’re here, but this EKG tells me you’re having a heart attack.”...

Is it really worth it?

Behind the glory of competition and the roar of crowds, every athlete faces a fundamental question: 'Is all this sacrifice worth it?'

Opening of the John Wooden Family Fieldhouse On June 15, we had the privilege of attending Athletes in Action’s grand opening of the John Wooden Family Fieldhouse in Xenia, OH. Did you know that AIA ministers not only to athletes and coaches, but also to sports fans? Through AIA events like the Super Bowl Breakfast and the All-Star Breakfast, we share the gospel and testimonies of faith with hundreds of people. Last month, AIA welcomed 1600 guests to the NFL-sanctioned Super Bowl Breakfast in Las Vegas where the Bart Starr Award was presented to Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, Jr....

Kory is an AIA staff member I am currently coaching who serves at Ohio Dominican University (ODU). He shares here about some of what God is doing on that campus: "How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction and he meditates on it day and night.”...
