Missionary of the Week: The AJ York Family, Church Planters in Michigan
This summer, the York family hosted “Summer Family Fun” at Wolverine Park. What could have been a major obstacle became an incredible opportunity to see God work.
Michigan was impacted by smoke from the Canadian wildfires, bringing poor air quality that kept many people indoors for several days. The Yorks were unable to canvass as much as they had hoped, and the forecast for their event was still calling for poor air quality.
Yet God had other plans. After a downpour the night before the event cleared the smoke, Saturday brought beautiful sunny skies, and people came out eager to enjoy the day. What looked like an obstacle became a “God showing up” moment!
Please pray for the Gospel seeds that were planted during the event, especially for Jay, a father they met at the park, as well as several other families and mothers from the community they had encouraging conversations with. Pray that God would continue to work in their hearts and that those seeds would bear fruit.
