What we thought might be years away could now be just months away! Read an update from Pastor Chaz on the Extend the Table Project ⬇️
“From the very beginning, we knew that as a church that is only 5 years old this September, securing financing for a project of this size could be complicated. We believed God had called us to create room for more people, and we were trusting Him to open doors that only He could open.
To be completely honest, there were moments I felt discouraged. I know the heart of Home Church. I know the generosity, faith, enthusiasm, and commitment that exists within our church family. But lenders don’t see what I see. They don’t see changed lives, stories of redemption, or the sacrifice of our people. They look at numbers.
Then something incredible happened.
After announcing the project in March, I watched our church respond with extraordinary generosity. Families gave one-time gifts. Others who may not have been able to give a one time gift made the decision to begin giving faithfully and consistently for the first time.
One of our lending partners saw it too. They saw the commitment. They saw the sacrifice. They saw the buy-in. And while they may not say it this way, I believe God moved on their hearts and opened a door.
They presented our leadership team with a lending opportunity that could dramatically accelerate our timeline. What felt like it might be years away could now potentially be months away.
I’ve watched families pull into the parking lot and leave because it felt overwhelming. I’ve watched guests walk in, struggle to find seats, and quietly slip out because the room felt too crowded.
We need room, not for comfort, for people. Because every new seat represents a new story that hasn’t been rewritten by Jesus yet.
The lender saw the generosity of Home Church and presented us with an approved loan opportunity that expires in 90 days. If we’re able to secure it, we could potentially put a shovel in the ground this September.
How crazy? We could break ground on our fifth anniversary as a church and, according to our builder’s projected timeline, be worshiping in our new home on our sixth anniversary. Only God!
To make that happen, we’re believing God for $350,000 over the next 90 days.
Even typing those numbers feels a little overwhelming. But then I remember everything about this story has felt impossible from the beginning.
And every step of the way, God has been faithful.
