Midweek Reminder:
7-DAY GROW CHALLENGE
BELONG... GROW.... GO!
We’ve been talking about what it means to grow in our relationship with Jesus. This week, let’s do more than talk about growth, let’s intentionally pursue it.
Jesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you.” ~John 15:4
For the next 7 days, take a few minutes each day and complete the challenge. Don’t worry about doing it perfectly. The goal is to intentionally spend time with Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you.
DAY 1 — ABIDE
Read John 15:1–8.
Spend at least 15 uninterrupted minutes with Jesus. Put away your phone and distractions. Read, pray, and simply spend time with Him.
Pray Points:
“Jesus, help me stay connected to You. I don’t want to just visit Your presence...I want to abide in You.”
DAY 2 — CHECK THE FRUIT
Read Galatians 5:22–23.
Look at the fruit of the Spirit.. love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Prayer Point:
“Holy Spirit, which of these needs the most growth in my life right now?”
e honest....Write down the one He brings to your attention.
DAY 3 — LET HIM PRUNE
Read John 15:2.
Ask God:
“What is getting in the way of my spiritual growth?”
Maybe it’s an attitude, unforgiveness, a habit, a distraction, too much time on something, or something God has already been asking you to surrender.
Don’t just identify it...take one practical step today toward letting it go.
Prayer Point:
“Father, I trust the Gardener. Prune whatever keeps me from becoming who You want me to be.”
DAY 4 — PRACTICE THE FRUIT
Go back to the fruit you identified on Day 2.
Today, intentionally practice it.
If it’s patience...slow down before you react.
if it’s love...show love to someone who is difficult to love.
If it’s peace...when worry comes, stop and pray.
If it’s gentleness ..pay attention to your words and tone.
If it’s self-control...say no to something your flesh wants to control.
Don’t just pray for fruit. Watch for an opportunity to produce it.
DAY 5 — GO DEEPER
Give Jesus something extra today.
Spend additional time in prayer or Scripture.
Turn off the television or put away your phone for a while and give that time to God.
You might choose to fast a meal if you are able.
The point isn't to earn anything from God. It is simply to say...
Jesus, You are worth my time and attention.
DAY 6 — POUR OUT
Read 1 Peter 4:10.
Remember what we learned...
Fruit doesn't grow just for the tree.
God is growing something in youthat can bless somebody else.
Today, intentionally pour into another person. Call someone who needs encouragement.
Pray with someone. Help someone. Send a Scripture.
Share something God has taught you. Do something that takes what God has placed in you and gives it away.
DAY 7 — EXAMINE & THANK GOD
Take a few quiet minutes and look back over your week.
Ask yourself:
Where did I see God working in me? What did He show me?What was difficult? Where did I respond differently than I normally would?
What still needs to grow?
Then thank God for every bit of progress.
Remember....
We are not looking for perfection...We are looking for evidence.
FRUIT IS THE EVIDENCE.
And here’s the final challenge...
Don’t let Day 7 be the end....
Keep abiding.
Keep praying.
Keep reading His Word.
Keep allowing Him to prune.
Keep producing fruit.
