Our mid week reminder concerning Matthew 13:24-30...The servants saw plants....The Master saw roots.
When the servants looked across the field, they saw what appeared to be wheat and tares growing together. Their first reaction was to pull up what they thought didn't belong.
But the Master saw something they could not see....He saw the roots.
He knew that premature separation could damage genuine wheat...How often are we tempted to judge what we can see while God is working beneath the surface with what we cant see.....
We see behavior....but God sees the heart.
We see the struggle....God sees the process.
We see the present condition....God sees the future harvest.
In Matthew 13, Jesus reminds us that fruit eventually reveals what appearance cannot. The wheat and tares looked similar for a season....but time exposed the difference.
As believers, our assignment is not to spend our lives identifying tares....Our assignment is to remain faithful, fruitful, and rooted in Christ.....so as we produce FRUIT, we will stand out and the closer we get to Jesus, the "heavier" we become.....the lower we will bow.
If you are experiencing changes, closed doors, shifting relationships, or unexpected separations, don't immediately ask, "Lord, why is this happening?"
Instead ask:
Lord, what are You protecting?
Lord, what are You producing in me?
Lord, how can I become more fruitful?
The wheat never had to expose the tares.....The wheat simply had to keep growing.
May we trust the Master of the field this week, knowing that what looks confusing above ground is fully understood by the One who sees the roots.
Keep growing.... Keep trusting.... Keep producing fruit.
"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree..." Psalm 92:12
