More than 300 people were present Tuesday evening for the Prayers for Justice, Peace and Hope online service put on by Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Washington Office. The service included liturgy, music and scripture, but leaned heavily on prayers offered by staff members and included readings by a pair of Young Adult Volunteers. In the days following the State of the Union, join the Office of Public Witness for a nonpartisan Prayer Service. In a time of deep division and the ongoing war with Iran, we gather to lament violence, pray for our leaders and neighbors, and seek a just peace among nations. Grounded in Scripture and shaped by our Reformed call to public witness, we come not as citizens of one country, but as disciples whose hope is in God alone. All are welcome. Come pray, seek peace, and be renewed as instruments of Christ’s love.

Christ walked among the sick, the hungry and the sorrowful. He reminds us still: “Whatever you did for one of the least of th...

Happy 150th to Central Presbyterian Church!

It was wonderful to worship with so many friends today and celebrate 150 years of Central Presbyterian Church!

Retta Vance, beloved member who has graced the earth and our church the longest, is front and center! Surrounding her are those who have walked with Central for up to sixty years, others who are just finding their way here, and dear friends whose love for this church has spanned countless memories and moments in time.
