From my friend Apologetics Citadel :

I was intrigued by the Mentat philosophy when I watched Dune, particularly the idea of training the mind to carefully process information, control emotion, recognize patterns, and pursue truth.

It got me thinking: what would a Christian worldview mindset statement look like based on those concepts, but with God and His Word as the foundation?

Here is what I have so far . . .

A Logical Christian Mindset

Seek truth before comfort.

I will not make reality conform to my feelings. I will submit my feelings to what is true.

Begin with God.

God is the source of truth, wisdom, morality, and meaning. I will not make myself the final authority over reality.

Test everything.

I will examine claims carefully, reject falsehood, and hold fast to what is good.

Separate fact from assumption.

I will distinguish between what I know, what I believe, what I suspect, and what I merely desire to be true.

Control emotion without denying it.

My emotions are real, but they are not infallible. I will acknowledge them without allowing them to become my master.

Remember what God has revealed.

I will keep Scripture before my mind and use God's Word as the standard by which I evaluate ideas, decisions, and beliefs.

Recognize patterns and consequences.

Actions have consequences. Ideas have consequences. Worldviews have consequences. I will consider where a belief ultimately leads.

Question my own assumptions.

I will be willing to discover that I am wrong. Humility is more valuable than defending an error simply because it is mine.

Seek wisdom, not merely information.

Knowledge tells me what is true. Wisdom teaches me how to live according to what is true.

Fear God rather than man.

I will not allow popularity, pressure, ridicule, or opposition to determine what I believe.

Remember my limitations.

My understanding is finite. God's is not. I will trust Him where my understanding reaches its limits.

Think carefully. Believe faithfully. Live obediently.

My goal is not merely to win arguments or accumulate knowledge. My goal is to know the truth, love God, and live faithfully in His world.

The foundation:

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.”

Proverbs 9:10

The governing principle:

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2
