Attic After School is a faith-based non-profit that exists to help students to write a better story. We have snacks, games, and friends!

It's so much better than going home to an empty house!

Today marked a big day for us. We’ve been planning, praying, and raising support for months to expand the Attic to more days after school in order to go deeper with students. TODAY was our first high school only Bible study! They were hungry and highlighting ❤️. Thank you to everyone for the support to get us here so far… and a special thank you to those 7 teens who went first today. This is for them. Great things are up ahead!!

WOW! 🥲 We’re wrapping up a monumental weekend. It was our first time taking Attic teens to the Where U At? Urban Youth Conference. God exceeded expectations. Can 350+ urban teenagers share a weekend together with peace, harmony, and love? We’ve seen it, absolutely yes…because of Jesus.

This weekend was a PREVIEW of the New Creation…
1) the BEAUTY of God’s creation enjoyed together, 2) the UNITY and DIVERSITY of people sharing life together, 3) the sound of PRAISE sung from the generations gathered, and 4) the PEACE (shalom) of God filling every inch of space here. Praise God!

Pray for our Attic kids coming home, and the hundreds of other teens coming back to West Michigan to bring shalom there!

Pray for the 8 teens from the Attic who are attending the Where U At? Urban Youth Conference this weekend. We are so excited to see what God will do in their lives on this spiritual retreat…which is a first for many of them 🙏

These retreat opportunities have the potential to change the lives of young people. Our goal is that 10 teens attend for this first year! Please pray for the teens who are considering signing up 🙏

We want to shout out to Tillema Auto for donating this sky lift!!! It’s amazing how impossible it is to do certain things in our gym without one. And now we can! Thank you friends! Especially their mascot dog Maverick (featured in the photos 🤣).

What a special day!!! This year our Attic teens will get the honor of packing food for Hand2Hand once a month that will go elementary kids in Wyoming and Grandville. Teens giving back and building up our community. It’s special for our kids to imagine that the bag of food they carry might end up in the locker that they once had when they attended that school (that’s a beautitul idea isn’t? ❤️).
Today is was 407 bags of food 🥲.

At it again today!!! Thank you Julia Elyse Soto for sharing your story and your leadership with our students. We’re are truly blessed to have you on the team!!! Our student leaders also went deep into leadership studies and spiritual gift assessments hours after the Attic dismissed. Transformation often begins by learning about yourself. Amazing stories in the making!!!

We’re back!!! What a beautiful first day of the Attic in the new school year. Drop-in Tuesday and Launch Out student leader training 💪

Two cool things!
#1 - We want to shout out to our supporters at Lombardo's Pizza-Wyoming. They’re good people. We had to drop in for a shout out 🍕. You should go pick up a pizza now.
#2 - We had our volunteer training today to get ready to swing the doors open for kids next week🔥! We took time to remember why this matters, we studied de-escalation and preparing to help when the room gets hot. We prayed and ended with communion ❤️.

Let’s go!!!! It’s going to be an amazing year.
