Facing Our Own Doubts

The June Ministry of the Month is Volunteers in Service

What We Do...
Connect volunteers from Christian churches and schools in Kent County, MI with opportunities to serve neighbors in their community who have been referred to VIS by over 75 social service agencies, non-profits, and health care organizations in the county.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to SERVE OTHERS, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Equip Christian ministry leaders as they mobilize their members for works of service through training, coaching, and resources.
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastor and teachers, to equip his people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Ephesians 4:11-12

1st Sunday Communion: This morning during our worship service, we will celebrate holy communion together. Communion is a sacrament through which the Lord strengthens and nourishes our faith and reminds us of His sacrifice on the cross for the complete forgiveness for all our sins. If you are joining us online and plan to join in communion, please gather something to represent Christ’s body (bread, crackers, biscuits, a pita) and something to represent Christ’s blood (juice, wine). May you experience God’s grace as we participate in this holy celebration together.

Daffodil Ministries’ mission is to facilitate safe, sustainable housing, supportive relationships, and connections to local resources to survivors of domestic abuse in our community. It was started by members of Calvary in 2018. In addition to owning a duplex near Calvary which is home to two client families, Daffodil has helped more than 75 other families in the last year--a 300% increase over the previous year--to get settled in safe, new housing in the community, providing an opportunity for a fresh start. For more information go to www.daffodilministries.org.
