It was a moving and patriotic Memorial Day hymn sing we enjoyed last evening! The congregational singing, led by R.J. Poel, was loud and passionate as we sang hymns celebrating our Lord and our country. The organ, twin pianos, and brass instruments contributed so much! Wyoming Mayor Kent Vanderwood brought greetings, Rev. Howard Davis told of how the Lord provided for him during his war experience, and Lt. Col. Denny Gillem spoke of the necessity of remembering and celebrating our military. For the first time, the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard joined us and performed 3 rifle volleys, played taps, and ceremonially folded the U.S. flag - all a touching tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you to all who participated and to all who came and made this a special night. If you would like to listen to the service you can find it here: https://8thchurch.org/podcasts/worship-services/2026-05-24-memorial-day-evening-hymn-sing-program Happy Memorial Day!

Hats, hats, and more hats were the theme today at our Ladies Spring Lunch at Eighth Church! We had a wonderful gathering of ladies who enjoyed each other's company sporting some beautiful head wear, a delicious lunch, and a program put on by Wilma Quist, The Hat Lady! She entertained us with jokes, stories, reminiscing about days gone by, songs, and lots of laughter. What a good time!👒
Thanks to all who made it possible - a lot of time and effort goes into these gatherings and we all sure enjoyed it!

Our Music Appreciation Program and Hymn Sing yesterday was so enjoyable! We were treated to many talented individuals and groups who shared their gifts and led us in praising and worshiping our Lord. Enjoy the photos of each performance and the videos of the congregation singing praises. Thanks to all who participated and to those who attended - it was a great afternoon!

What a wonderful celebration of Christ's resurrection we had at our Easter service! From the congregation singing all the favorite Easter hymns, to the choir's rendition of "He's Living Today," to Pastor Harry's sermon on "Our Only Hope: The Risen Christ," we basked in the Lord's goodness and rejoiced in the hope He has given us!
If you need some Easter inspiration for today, you can listen to or watch the full service on our website: https://8thchurch.org/podcasts/worship-services/2026-04-05-our-only-hope-the-risen-christ
