Sunday Sermon: Who Touched Me?

Week 8 of Close Encounters with Jesus, guest speaker Michael Howard walks us through three powerful encounters—John 4, John 8, and Luke 8—where people meet Jesus in very different ways. Some meet Him by accident, others along the way, and others in desperate, intentional pursuit. Yet each encounter leads to the same outcome: a life transformed.

No one who truly encounters Jesus remains the same. Whether you stumble into His presence or seek Him with all your strength, He meets you with grace.

Join us as we explore how Jesus meets people and leads them into the life God intended for them.

Outcasts No More!

Week 7 of Close Encounters with Jesus takes us to John 9:24–38, where Jesus meets a man born blind—and turns an outcast into a worshiper.
The story begins with a man who had never seen light. Jesus heals him in a way that confounds the religious leaders: on the Sabbath, using mud and compassion. What follows is not just a miracle of sight, but a revelation of truth.
The healed man stands courageously before the Pharisees, refusing to deny what Jesus did.
He says simply, “I was blind, but now I see.”
While the Pharisees cling to their pride and traditions, Jesus seeks out the man they cast away—and welcomes him into faith.

The Pharisees chose exclusion; Jesus chose restoration.
He still finds those who have been rejected and says, “You are outcasts no more.”
Join us as we discover how Jesus turns rejection into redemption and blindness into belief.

No one is Beyond God’s Reach

Week 6 of Close Encounters with Jesus takes us to ACTS 9: 1-6; 10-19, where Saul—an enemy of the church—meets the risen Jesus and becomes a completely transformed man.
Saul was a devoted Pharisee, fiercely committed to traditions but spiritually blind. His zeal led him to hunt down Christians, “breathing threats and murder” against the followers of Jesus. But on the road to Damascus, everything changed. A light from heaven knocked him to the ground, and a voice called his name: “Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

In that moment, Saul discovered that harming the people of Jesus is harming Jesus Himself. He also discovered something even more shocking: Jesus still wanted him.

Through Ananias’ obedience, Saul received healing, the Holy Spirit, baptism, and a new calling. The persecutor became a preacher. The enemy became an apostle. The man who tried to silence the gospel became the one who carried it across the world.

If Jesus can reach Saul, He can reach anyone.
No one is too far, too broken, too hostile, or too lost for the love of Christ. Join us as we explore the unstoppable grace of God and the calling that comes with following Jesus.

When God Calls Your Name!

Week 5 of Close Encounters with Jesus takes us to Luke 19:1–10, where Jesus calls Zacchaeus by name—and his life is never the same.

Zacchaeus was a wealthy chief tax collector who had become rich through dishonesty. Curious about Jesus, he climbed a sycamore tree just to catch a glimpse of Him. But while Zacchaeus was looking for Jesus, Jesus was already seeking Zacchaeus.

When Jesus called his name and invited Himself into Zacchaeus' home, everything changed.

He didn't just stop stealing—he became generous.
He didn't just feel guilty—he repented and made restitution.
He didn't just meet Jesus—he welcomed Him with joy.
He didn't simply experience forgiveness—he experienced transformation.

This passage reminds us that Jesus knows us completely and loves us anyway. He doesn't call us to shame us; He calls us to save us, dwell with us, and transform us from the inside out.

Jesus is still calling people by name today.

If Jesus came to your house today—not for a visit, but to make His home with you—what would change?

Join us as we discover the life-changing power of God's grace and the transforming call of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Sermon: Fully Surrendered!

In Week 4 of Close Encounters with Jesus, we explore Jesus' encounter with the rich young ruler in Mark 10:17–31. Although the young man sincerely desired eternal life and had faithfully kept God's commandments, he was unwilling to let go of the wealth that had captured his heart.

Through this conversation, Jesus reveals that eternal life cannot be earned by good works or religious devotion. Instead, it is received by those who place their complete trust in Him. Jesus' invitation, "Come, follow Me," is not a command to embrace poverty, but a call to surrender anything that competes with our love for and trust in Him.

This passage challenges us to examine our own hearts and identify what may be keeping us from following Christ wholeheartedly. As His disciples, we are called to live with open hands, seek first the kingdom of God, and trust that His provision is always greater than anything we are asked to surrender.

Ultimately, Jesus' question remains the same for each of us today: Do you trust Me enough to follow Me?
