When God’s people sinned and were bitten by poisonous snakes, their leader, Moses, made a bronze snake so that anyone who looked at it could be healed. Jesus later referred to this story, saying that people could look to Him and find forgiveness. Preschoolers learned that God can give us hope, and we can always look to Jesus and trust that He will forgive us.

Point up and say, “God can forgive us!” at different times throughout the day to remind your preschoolers that they can always look to God and be forgiven.

After the disciple Peter lied about knowing Jesus, he was devastated. But when Jesus rose from the dead, He invited Peter to follow Him and care for others, showing that He forgives what is broken and makes us whole.

Point out broken things while with your preschoolers, explaining that sin breaks our friendship with God, but because of forgiveness through Jesus, God can make us whole.

This week’s Bible story came from Mark 2 and Luke 5. When men carried their paralyzed friend on a mat to see Jesus, He healed the man and forgave his sins. Preschoolers learned that God can forgive all of us through Jesus, which is better than anything else we could ask for. Ask your preschoolers yes-or-no questions about what they can and cannot do, ending with, “Can God forgive you?” Celebrate with a loud yes!

This week’s Bible story came from Ephesians 2:1-10. Preschoolers learned that God sent Jesus for us. A man named Paul wrote to followers of Jesus telling them that when we love and follow Jesus, we have new life. God sent Jesus so we can have a forever friendship with Him because He loves and values us!

Make up a cheer with your preschoolers spelling the word “new.” Every time you spell it, say, “Jesus gives us new life!”

Preschoolers learned that God is the Creator of everything—including people. In Genesis 1:26–2:25, God made the first people unique and set apart from the rest of creation. He made them in His own image. Preschoolers can know God made them on purpose and in His image too. Every person is created on purpose—none of us is here by accident. Invite your preschoolers to create something, then tell you about their creations. Share that in the same way they created something on purpose, God made them on purpose!!!

In Luke 15:11-24, preschoolers learned that God celebrates us when we follow Him. When a younger son demanded his inheritance from his father, he left home and wasted the money on foolish living. A famine struck the land, and the son decided to return home and beg his father to make him like one of the servants. The father saw him and ran to welcome him. The Father celebrated and threw a big party because his son, who was lost, had come home! Like the father in the story, God values and celebrates us when we follow Him.

Celebrate your preschoolers every day this week by saying something you love and appreciate about them.

We are kicking off September with the animal-tastic Big Deal, “Wild and Wonderful! God Values Me!” Preschoolers will learn about the wild, wonderful, and unique ways God designed them and how His design shows they are valued by Him. We will teach preschoolers that God made them with worth, He celebrates them, He made them on purpose, and He sent Jesus for them.

This week preschoolers learned about the story of Jesus and the children. One day several people brought their children to Jesus, asking Him to bless them. When Jesus’s disciples tried to keep the children away, Jesus rebuked them and shared that the kingdom of God belongs to them. Preschoolers can know that in the same way Jesus welcomed the children in the Bible story, God welcomes all of us because He made us with worth.

This week, our preschoolers learned about how God leads them to know Him. In Psalm 139, we see that King David was a man who loved and followed God. David knew God made him on purpose, and he praised God for making him remarkable and special. God made David to know Him and have a friendship with Him. God made us to know Him and have a friendship with Him too. God sent Jesus, making a way for our sins to be forgiven and for us to live the way He created us to live. He knows everything about us, and He leads us to know Him.

This week your preschoolers learned about how Jesus taught that when it comes to loving others, God’s love should be our standard, not other people. In Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus taught that people who love and follow Him are to love differently. They are to love when it costs them something, even if they are not shown love and kindness in return. They should also love their enemies. Jesus is our example of how to love like this. If God loves us with that kind of never-giving-up love, we should love others—even our enemies—with that same love.
