Just a friendly reminder: This week we are supporting Star of Hope. Their pickup is on Thursday morning (7/30). Please bring all grown and purchased produce to the Summer Harvest shed by early Thursday morning.

Thanks for generously giving last week! Your donations were distributed through Star of Hope to hungry families in need. Your giving is meeting real needs!

This week, we will be working with New Hope Ministries. The pickup is on Wednesday July 8, 2020 morning so please bring your produce (grown or purchased) to the Summer Harvest shed by Tuesday July 7, 2020.

This week's distribution will be on Wednesday morning so please get your produce to the Summer Harvest shed by Tuesday night (6/23/20). The last two weeks we've been able to donate over 250 pounds of produce in total! Let's keep up the generous giving. You are a lifeline for families struggling with food insecurity!

This week, Star of Hope will pick up on Thursday so please have your donations dropped off by Wednesday night. If you have non-perishable items, they go in the other designated Star of Hope shed right near the dumpster. In that shed, there is a food collection box to the right. Let's continue our generous giving!

There's still time to drop off produce at the Cornerstone Summer Harvest shed for tomorrow morning's pickup! Thanks to everyone who donated aleady. The fridge is located in the shed next to the garden.

This week we are supporting New Hope Ministries!

Please drop off your donated produce (grown or store bought) by the end of the day TUESDAY 6/9/20 (for Wed morning pickup).

All of our donated produce will be included in their bi-monthly food pantry shopping event. This is a great opportunity to work with this wonderful ministry.

Just a friendly reminder that this Thursday, June 4,2020 is our first scheduled produce pick up by Star of Hope. If you would like to drop off anything, please do so by Wednesday night in the shed next to the garden behind the red barn. Let's really get off to a great start!

Exciting Update: We will be partnering with TWO organizations this summer! We'll continue working with the wonderful ministry of Star of Hope Ministries, Inc. (www.sohm.org). Star of Hope in Paterson distributes food and resources to dozens of churches in a network throughout the greater Paterson area. Their work during the last few months has literally kept food on the table for families struggling with heightened food insecurity. We will also be working with New Hope Community Ministries in Prospect Park, NJ (www.newhopecmnj.org). They have a growing food ministry and they hope to provide more fresh, healthy produce in their bi-monthly food pantry distribution days. What a joy to be able to partner with two ministries in our area that tangibly empower families!

Our first produce collection is next week! Star of Hope Ministries, Inc. will be coming to Cornerstone on June 4th for our first collection/distribution. Let's start off with a bang! Most of us don't have produce ready in our gardens, but we can certainly purchase fresh fruit and veggies to drop off in the shed by the church garden. There is a large refrigerator in the shed to place items in. Thank you for your generosity!

Check out how to grow plants from the clippings or scraps of your store bough veggies. Doing this with basil, green onions and lettuce is quick and easy. A great activity for kids to do too!
