Have you ever felt like an outcast?
Is society's verdict on you based on your worst moment, rather than the inherent value Christ sees in you?
Have you gone to Church and immediately felt the tension that you simply don't belong?
This Sunday, we will explore Mark 2:13–17, where Jesus calls Levi to follow Him and shares a table with tax collectors and sinners.
Levi's occupation made him an unlikely choice in the eyes of many, yet Jesus called him to become a disciple. When religious leaders questioned why Jesus ate with sinners, He described His mission through the picture of a doctor caring for the sick.
Apart from Christ, no one can stand before God on personal righteousness. Everyone needs His mercy, and His love reaches even the worst of sinners.
Sunday's message will explore the welcome Jesus extends to those who feel rejected, the new life He calls them into, and how His followers can become friends of sinners by extending the mercy they have received.
