"There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came for testimony, to bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light." John 1:6-8

Today we celebrate the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, the only person other than Our Lord and Our Lady whose birth is celebrated on the Church calendar. We recognize him as the last of the prophets, surpassing all others who came before him, who prepared the way for the Lord.

UPDATE
Join Fr. Brendon in celebrating his 10th Anniversary of Ordination with a special trip to Medjourge.
Flights from DTW are currently $3,437, with just one stop each way in Europe. It would be wonderful to have friends join me for this memorable occasion of thanksgiving, fellowship, and pilgrimage.
If you are interested in coming along, please let me know soon so we can begin coordinating plans.

FATHER'S DAY AND DONUT SUNDAY! Come enjoy some fun and fellowship over donuts and coffee or tea.

Today is the solemnity of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1673, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque received a vision of Jesus’ compassionate heart, pierced by the sins of the world, which gave rise to the devotion we know today. In 1899, Pope Leo XIII consecrated humanity to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Please join us for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass today, offered at 12:00 PM at St. Vincent Pallotti parish.

Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Also known as Corpus Christi, today honors the body of Christ, both in the Eucharist and in the Church.

When we receive the Eucharist, we become one Body in Christ. As we kneel in adoration, we are choosing the freedom of Christ’s call over the slavery of man’s reign.
