It is my hope everyone had a wonderful summer, and now I am excited to welcome you back to the new season of Sunday School!

Welcome Sunday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wyandotte is just 2 weeks away!
Join us for a celebration inclusive of free raffles,youth games and prizes, welcome bags will be provided for all attendees of all ages, and a free luncheon is provided during coffee/fellowship hour! β›ͺ️

DAY 3 AT VBS 2026!
Our final Nazareth adventure for this summer. (Join us Friday night for FREE family movie night!)

Our focus was on how Jesus helped people, and we can too! We acted out making bread from the grain we milled into flour, while learning that Jesus is the bread of life. We made shake butter, and discussed how God can transform our lives into something wonderful! We walked the labyrinth in the courtyard together in the fresh air and had a nature adventure. In the spirit of helping, we packed some groceries for youth in our community that will be distributed by the library and local high school. We closed the night by eating our bread and butter 🍞 🧈.

Thank you to all the youth who participated and to the wonderful volunteers who showed up for our community!

On day 2 of VBS 2026 we visited the Synagogue where Jesus prayed and studied. While there, we learned a prayer! We went to the village and picked grain and then ground it into flour for tomorrow! We went to the market and visited the fish shop where we fished for plastic fish. After our fishing excursion, we made bracelets with fish shaped beads (a secret symbol in the time of Jesus)

On day 3, we will make bread with the flour we milled, and we will make shake butter!
We will also pack grocery bags for children in our community who need it, which will be distributed by the high school abd library.

Our VBS mascots got loose before we arrived today, and they took all the animals from the corral with them! The Judah Tribe went on an adventure to find them and bring them safely back to Nazareth!

VBS 2026 day1
Our Return to Hometown Nazareth!
After sharing a meal together, we began our journey. We learned that Jesus had a hometown, Nazareth, just like we have homes. We met with several local characters who shared stories with us. The carpenter and their wife showed us they had made many beautiful wooden fish, so we all paid one shekel to buy one to decorate. Mary showed us some of her most treasured keepsakes as she shared memories of Jesus' childhood. We ended our day at the market buying treats of all sorts (with our shekels πŸͺ™ ) to snack on and take home.

On day 2 we will visit the synagogue where Jesus prayed and studied. We also stop by the fish shop!

The VBS mascots are dressed in their tribe colors & the voluteers worked hard to get everything ready! The marketplaces are stocked for our arrival, Mary has prepared her home for guests to visit, and we are so excited to start this year's return to Hometown Nazareth adventures with you!
