O God of this and every nation, at all times, you are our refuge in trouble, hope in trials, and strength in living for what is good.
We come to you 25 years from the day when the Twin Towers and the Pentagon were struck, when Flight 93 went down, 2,977 lives were lost,
and grief tore our nation’s heart. Thank you for helping us to bear such tragedy.
We come to you remembering the day when first responders and countless others lived with courage and compassion — those on a plane over Pennsylvania, those who rushed to fight fires, help the wounded, aid evacuation, search rubble and give comfort to the grieving. Help us to live with such courage and resolve.
We come to you honoring the lives that were lost, giving thanks for those who served and saved, praying your comfort for all still living with grief, and asking your strength to live for what serves the wellbeing you desire for the human family.
May our remembering and your grace unite us to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with you, our God. Amen.
