Gnostic Church of Saint George The Church of St. George is a local ministry of the Open Rite located in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago George is a local ministry of the Open Rite.

We hold periodic services in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. Other events, such as meals, field trips and coffee meetings are scheduled as and when desired or necessary. While our community is part of a Gnostic, esoteric Christian church, our community members aren't required to hold these views. We worship in the Christian tradition, but we welcome those who are interested in our ongoing conver

sation of and about the divine. Individuals who are interested in attending services or other activities should follow this page for event notices.

Many...and by many I mean all, Alchemists talk about the mystery of Lead into Gold. I believe there is a far more important mystery. That of Iron into Steel. A far more feasible operation. One attained by regular folks on a daily basis. Take a strong material. Remove impurities. Add carbon. Take something that is prone to rust and degradation. Make it stronger and impervious. This should be the goal of the modern alchemist. Picture semi-related.
