This Sunday morning, we are delighted to be welcoming the Providence Baroque Orchestra, together with director Fred Jodry on the organ, to our sanctuary to perform Bach's Cantata 111 with our Adult Choir and Children's Choir. This is part of 's The Complete Bach project. We recommend arriving at 10:15am if you want to hear the full prelude! Our service will start at 10:30am.

Our Adult Choir, joined by members of the Children's Choir, performed the first movement of Bach's Cantata BWV 111 with organ last Sunday - this coming Sunday hear us perform the full cantata with the Providence Baroque Orchestra! We are so delighted to be part of 's Bachtoberfest weekend. Hope to see you at First Unitarian on Sunday - be there at 10:15am if you want to catch the prelude, which will be three movements of Bach's Orchestral Suite in C Major, BWV 1066. What topic could the Artistic Director of the Worcester Chorus and The Complete Bach project possibly be talking about here? Why, Bach's Cantata 111 of course! We were lucky enough to have Chris Shepard conduct us in a Summer Sing of the opening chorus last June (when this picture was taken) and this Sunday the First Unitarian Adult and Children's Choirs will perform the whole cantata, together with the Providence Baroque Orchestra, and Fred Jodry on our glorious organ!

Members of our YRU2 youth group lead the Children's Chapel yesterday. They led the chalice lighting , time for sharing, read and animated a children's story, led hymns, and gave reflections on courage. The service also included a prelude on the tuba, an anthem on guitar and a postlude on piano. This is a talented bunch!

We are once again honored to be participating in 's Complete Bach Project! We shared Cantata #61 two years ago, and on October 25 we will be sharing Cantata #111. But we are doing a special sneak-preview of Movement 1 this coming Sunday, October 18 - don't miss both our Adult Choir and Children's Choir joining in together on this upbeat movement. Luckily we don't have to sing from the original manuscript, pictured below!

Both our Children's Choir and our Youth Choir are starting rehearsals THIS Sunday! Children's Choir is open to grades 3-8, and rehearses from 12:15-1pm every week, and Youth Choir is open to grades 8-12, and rehearses from 1:15-2pm every week. Anyone can join, your family does not need to be members of the church. Come sing with us! Contact Music Director Dr. Allegra Martin with questions!
