THE LORD HAS COMMANDED US TO ACT A CERTAIN WAY TOWARDS OUR LEADERS, KINGS (PRESIDENTS) AND PEOPLE IN AUTHORITY. HE ALSO SAID IF YOU LOVE ME, YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. THAT MEANS THAT WE WILL OBEY "EVERY WORD THAT IS WRITTEN OR PROCEEDETH OUT OF HIS MOUTH. WE PROVE WE LOVE HIM BY DOING EXACTLY THAT. IF YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD, YOU ARE A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST. OLD THINGS AND WAYS HAVE PASSED AWAY. NOW WE ARE TO BE IN THE WORLD BUT NOT OF THE WORLD. HE TOLD ME TO SHARE THIS WORD WITH HIS PEOPLE WITH HIS CHILDREN. HE SAID THAT HIS SHEEP WILL KNOW HIS VOICE AND NONE OTHER SHALL THEY HEAR. BELOW IS THE MESSAGE THAT HE GAVE ME FOR THIS UPCOMING INAUGURATION. NOW IS THE TIME TO PROVE THAT YOU LOVE GOD. ALSO WE WILL BE PRAYING AT NOON TIME FOR A PEACEFUL, GOD ORCHESTRATED TRANSITION OF POWER AND THAT THE LORD BLESSES US AND THIS NATION UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP.

Introduction
My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, we find ourselves at a pivotal time in our nation’s history. As Donald Trump assumes the office of President, many are rejoicing, while others are concerned or divided. Regardless of our personal feelings, the Holy Scriptures call us to pray earnestly for those who lead us. This sermon aims to remind us of our sacred duty to seek unity through prayer and to uphold respect for our leaders, as the Word of God instructs.

1. Our Biblical Mandate to Pray
1 Timothy 2:1–2 (KJV)
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
We begin with the Apostle Paul’s heartfelt directive to pray for everyone—especially those in positions of authority. This command is clear: we are to be faithful intercessors on behalf of our leaders, desiring that their governance fosters peace and godliness throughout the land. When we engage in prayer, we align ourselves with God’s will and create an atmosphere where love can overcome discord.

2. Recognizing God’s Sovereignty in Leadership
Romans 13:1 (KJV)
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”
No matter who holds public office, the Bible reminds us that all earthly authorities operate under God’s sovereignty. This verse encourages us to acknowledge that, ultimately, our Heavenly Father holds the destiny of nations. We may not fully understand why certain individuals ascend to power, yet we trust that God orchestrates all things according to His purpose. In this posture of trust, our prayers become an act of faithful submission to the Lord’s higher plan.

3. Honoring Those in Authority
1 Peter 2:17 (KJV)
“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.”
During the early days of the Church, believers were instructed to respect their ruling authorities—even under difficult circumstances. Today, we must heed the same call. Honoring our leaders does not necessarily mean we approve of every decision they make. Rather, it reflects our commitment to “speak evil of no man” (Titus 3:2) and to cultivate hearts of respect, civility, and prayerful concern.

4. Overcoming Division Through Prayer and Love
Matthew 5:44 (KJV)
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
Our Savior’s words pierce through every form of division and animosity. Even when we feel at odds with political leaders or opposing parties, Christ’s command is to love and to pray, not to harbor hatred. By praying for President Trump and all elected officials, we guard our hearts from bitterness and invite the Holy Spirit to work miracles of unity and healing in our nation.

5. Seeking the Peace of Our Land
Jeremiah 29:7 (KJV)
“And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.”
This passage speaks of the Israelites in exile, yet its principle remains powerful for us today. We are called to pray for the peace of our nation, understanding that when our leaders govern with wisdom and justice, all citizens benefit. Let us pursue the welfare of our communities by lifting our voices to heaven on behalf of those who serve in government. As we do, we place our trust in God’s ability to guide, correct, and bless those who hold authority.

Conclusion
My dear friends, as we embark on a new chapter in American leadership, let us remember that our first allegiance is to Christ. In praying for our leaders, we fulfill God’s directive, demonstrate our trust in His sovereignty, and become agents of peace in a divided world. May our prayers for President Donald Trump, his administration, and all government officials rise as a sweet savor before the Lord.
Let us bow our heads in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we humbly ask You to guide our President and all those in authority. Grant them wisdom, compassion, and the courage to serve righteously. Heal any divisions in our land and unify us under Your holy name. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
May God bless each one of you, bless our leaders, and bless this nation.
