A few weeks ago, we shared a photo of our two new seminarians at Our Lady of Providence on the first day of school. It took a little longer to get a start of the year photo from James Buttitta, who studies at Saint John's Seminary, because first year men there undertake a technology fast. Here is a photo from a few weeks ago of James talking with our other seminarian, Daniel Morrissey, in the refectory at an event for the start of the year.

Please help us welcome Mr. James Buttitta to Saint John’s Seminary!

James is studying for the Diocese of Worcester and entering the Propaedeutic Program. His favorite book of the Bible is Isaiah, which he loves for its hopeful and inspiring message, especially the reminder that God knows each of us by name and calls us to trust in Him.

His favorite saint is Saint Anthony of Padua. Blessed Franz Jägerstätter has also had a profound influence on James’ vocation. Blessed Franz’s unwavering commitment to his Catholic faith and moral convictions, even in the face of death, has challenged James to deepen his own faith and commitment to God.

Outside of seminary, James enjoys reading, collecting records, and playing guitar.

We are grateful for James’ generous response to Christ’s call and ask you to keep him in your prayers as he begins this new chapter at Saint John’s.

Welcome to Saint John’s, James!
