WPI Newman Club

WPI Newman Club Catholic Campus ministry on the WPI campus. We celebrate Mass every Sunday on campus at 11:00 AM.

The location varies but is typically in Alden Hall or Riley Commons. We also have weekly gatherings as a time where people can come together in faith to build a community. By the invocation of the Holy Spirit and the laying on of hands of His Excellency Bishop Robert J. McManus, Rev. Alfredo Porras, WPI and Newman Club alumnus, was ordained to the priesthood. The celebration was this past Saturday, June 22 at St Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester, MA.

Please join us at the Mass for Life this Monday, March 25 at 10:00am at St Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester and support Helena Petroff. She will receive the Ruth V.K. Pakaluk Pro-Life Youth Award

Helena Petroff, a graduate of the Trivium School in Lancaster and a freshman at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, will receive the Ruth V.K. Pakaluk Pro-Life Youth Award. She is the founding president of the Students for Life group, which she and Father Hugo Cano, WPI campus chaplain, organized. She has been involved in pro-life activities since grammar school when she and her family began attending the March for Life, according to the citation.

Bishop McManus will be celebrant and five people will receive awards at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, in St. Paul Cathedral at the annual diocesan Mass for Life. The liturgy celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation.

Please consider attending the annual Discernment Retreat of Priestly Vocation that the Diocese of Worcester hosts each year. There is no cost, and transportation is provided. The time commitment is only 24-hours from Friday evening to Saturday evening. This retreat is directed by Bishop McManus who is assisted by the priests of the Office of Vocations of the Diocese of Worcester — Fr. Jim Mazzone, Fr. Jonathan Slavinskas & Fr. Donato Infante.
