In this hour of profound sorrow and unimaginable loss, we ask the faithful, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by the ministry and friendship of Fr. John Charest to please consider supporting his family—especially Pani Matushka Laryssa and their three children.

The loss of a husband and father is a tragedy beyond words. As they now face this difficult and uncertain time, let us come together as the Body of Christ and surround them not only with our prayers, but also with tangible acts of love and support.
Our Lord teaches us to bear one another’s burdens, and the Holy Apostle Paul reminds us that “God loves a cheerful giver.” Let us reflect the Light of Christ in this dark and tragic moment by giving generously, according to our ability, and by showing this grieving family that they are not alone.

Every donation, no matter the amount, is an expression of love, compassion, and Christian solidarity. May our generosity help ease the burdens that now rest upon Pani Matushka Laryssa and her children as they mourn the loss of their beloved husband and father.

Please prayerfully consider making a donation to the Fund of Support for Fr. John Charest’s Family and sharing this appeal with others.

May the Lord, who is rich in mercy, bless every cheerful giver a hundredfold, comfort Pani Matushka Laryssa and the children, and grant rest, peace, and blessed repose to the soul of His servant, Fr. John.

Memory Eternal! Вічная Пам’ять!

Archdeacon Vasyl Memorial Fund - Donation Request (link below)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As many of you are aware, our beloved Archdeacon Vasyl has reposed in the Lord. Because he had very limited financial means, our parish is assuming the expenses associated with his funeral and burial so that he may be laid to rest with the dignity and prayers befitting a faithful servant of Christ and His Holy Church.
Those who wish to assist in defraying the costs of the funeral and memorial headstone are invited to make a donation either in person or through the parish memorial fund established for this purpose:

Archdeacon Vasyl Memorial Fund

As the Holy Apostle Paul teaches:
“Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
— 2 Corinthians 9:7

Any contribution, regardless of size, will be received with gratitude and will help honor the memory of Archdeacon Vasyl and provide for his final earthly needs.

On behalf of the parish family, I thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers for the repose of his soul. May the Lord grant rest to His departed servant, Archdeacon Vasyl, in a place of light, a place of green pasture, and a place of refreshment, where all sickness, sorrow, and sighing have fled away.
With love in Christ,

Fr Boris

Christ is risen! Христос воскрес!

"Let no one fear death, for the Savior’s death has set us free. He that was held prisoner of it has annihilated it. By descending into Hell, He made Hell captive. He embittered it when it tasted of His flesh. And Isaiah, foretelling this, did cry: Hell, said he, was embittered, when it encountered Thee in the lower regions. It was embittered, for it was abolished. It was embittered, for it was mocked. It was embittered, for it was slain. It was embittered, for it was overthrown. It was embittered, for it was fettered in chains. It took a body, and met God face to face. It took earth, and encountered Heaven. It took that which was seen, and fell upon the unseen."

— from the Paschal Homily of St. Jhon Chrysostom
