WCN - Celebrate Recovery

WCN - Celebrate Recovery Celebrate Recovery is to encourage fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives as we work our way along the road to recovery.

Each of us has hurts, hang-ups, and habits, and Celebrate Recovery is a powerful Ministry in which we allow God to provide healing and freedom from those things that hold us down and pull us back. Through Biblical teachings and principles, we open the door to the peace and wholeness that God wants to bring about in our lives. Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday (even if Thursday falls on a hol

iday). You do not need to be a member of Woodstock Church of the Nazarene to attend Celebrate Recovery. OUR STORY: We started our Ministry as a thought. A trip to visit a long time friend and while on that trip was introduced to Celebrate Recovery. A few months later, after attending a Celebrate Recovery because a friend was in crisis. The call was made to the church Pastor, “Dude. We have to start this”. Then our journey began. Through Celebrate Recovery first we saw healing in our Church body, then was able to offer those healing choices to our community. Celebrate is a place where you will not be judged, a place to take off your mask and be who God made you, a place for restored relationships, a place to be loved. We have a little saying, “At CR we will love your face off.” We heal our relationship with God first and then work on restoring our relationships with others. Did you know that only 1 in 3 people attend Celebrate Recovery because of a chemical addiction issue? Just show up and be who God made you to be.

❤️‍🩹 OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE: HELP PEOPLE FIND FREEDOM.

Celebrate Recovery exists to help people find freedom and healing from their hurts, hang-ups, and habits through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

And you don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the doors.

Come as you are.

Celebrate Recovery is a place where we can get honest about what's happening in our lives without judgment, experience God's grace, and walk alongside a Forever Family that understands none of us were meant to do life alone.

But CR is also about so much more than attending a weekly meeting.

🙌 Celebrate Recovery is a discipleship ministry.

We're learning what it means to follow Jesus, surrender our lives to Him, grow spiritually, and let Him transform how we live.

🤝 Celebrate Recovery is a community engagement ministry.

We don't want to keep the hope we've found inside the walls of our churches. We want to carry Jesus' love and hope into our families, churches, neighborhoods, prisons, workplaces, and communities.

🔥 Celebrate Recovery is a leadership factory.

People walk through the doors looking for help and, over time, God can use their healing and testimony to help someone else.

The person sitting quietly in their first meeting today may become a sponsor tomorrow.

The person beginning a Step Study may someday lead one.

The person who once believed their story was filled with too much brokenness may discover that God can use that very story to introduce someone else to Jesus.

That's discipleship. That's community. That's recovery.

But none of it happens because of us.

We can't do this without Jesus Christ leading the way. ✝️

📖 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 NIV

So whether you're taking your first step or helping someone else take theirs, you have a place here.

Come as you are.
Find your Forever Family.
Experience freedom.
Grow as a disciple.
Help someone else discover hope.

And through it all…

❤️‍🩹 Jesus Christ leads the way.

What is co-dependency? Read on and come join us Thursday evenings or find a Celebrate Recovery near you. God bless!

❤️‍🩹 LET’S TALK ABOUT CO-DEPENDENCY.

Co-dependency can show up when our need for another person’s approval, acceptance, or validation becomes so important that we start letting them control our choices—or when we find ourselves trying to control or manipulate someone else.

Sometimes it can look like:

⚪️Saying “yes” when you really want to say no.
⚪️Changing yourself to keep someone happy.
⚪️️Feeling responsible for someone else’s emotions or choices.
⚪️Trying to rescue or fix people.
⚪️️Avoiding healthy boundaries because you're afraid someone will leave.
⚪️Compromising your values because you desperately want approval or acceptance.

Over time, we can lose sight of who God created us to be.

At Celebrate Recovery, we learn that our identity and worth don't have to come from another person's approval.

Our identity is found in Jesus Christ. ✝️

Recovery may mean learning how to establish healthy boundaries, surrender our need to control others, stop trying to rescue everyone, and recognize that we cannot make another person's choices for them.

And sometimes one of the hardest lessons is realizing:

✅️You can love someone without controlling them.
✅️You can care about someone without rescuing them.
✅️You can disappoint someone and still make a healthy decision.

📖 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?” - Galatians 1:10 NIV

If co-dependency, people-pleasing, fear of rejection, or unhealthy relationships are part of your story, you are not alone.

Celebrate Recovery provides a safe, Christ-centered community where we can honestly work through our hurts, hang-ups, and habits while Jesus Christ leads the way.

🙏 Jesus, help us recognize the places where we've looked to people for the validation that ultimately belongs to You. Give us wisdom to establish healthy boundaries, courage to make healthy choices, and grace to love others without trying to control them. Remind us that our identity and worth are found in You. Amen.

❤️‍🩹 WHO IS CELEBRATE RECOVERY FOR?

The answer is simple:

EVERYONE.

Celebrate Recovery isn't only for drugs and alcohol. It's for anyone carrying a hurt, struggling with a hang-up, or trying to break an unhealthy habit.

Because the truth is, we all have something, and no one should have to face their pain alone.

Celebrate Recovery is a grace-filled, Christ-centered community where we courageously create space to get honest about what's happening in our lives.

Sometimes that means facing our pain.

Sometimes it means recognizing the negative ways we've learned to see ourselves, God, or others.

Sometimes it means admitting that the habits we developed to escape our pain have ended up hurting ourselves or the people we love.

And sometimes it simply means saying:

“I need help.”

There is no shame in that. ❤️

Celebrate Recovery offers a biblically based approach to lasting recovery as we address our hurts, hang-ups, and habits; replace unhealthy patterns with God's truth; and develop new, life-giving habits.

But we don't do any of it alone.

Jesus Christ leads the way. ✝️
Our Forever Family walks alongside us. 🤝
And together, we keep taking the next step.

📖 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 NIV

Maybe you've thought:

“My problem isn't bad enough for Celebrate Recovery.”

You don't have to hit rock bottom.
You don't need an addiction.
You don't need to have everything figured out.

You need to be willing to take that first step.

Come as you are. ❤️‍🩹
