[email protected] & 540-459-4899 View Parish is a joint parish of two Lutheran congregations, St. Luke and Mt. Zion, near Woodstock, VA. Our pastor serves both congregations. Together we give thanks for God's unending grace by gathering in worship, growing in faith, and striving to fol

low what Jesus called the greatest commandment: to love God, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Our Pastor:
The Rev. Anna Havron, M. Div., was ordained by the Virginia Synod-ELCA and called as pastor to Mt. View Parish in 2016. She is a graduate of Gettysburg Seminary in Gettysburg, PA. She also earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a master's degree from the University of Connecticut. She loves the Shenandoah Valley, both for its beauty and its people. Prior to entering the ministry, she worked as a researcher in the healthcare field and later as communications director of a church. Pastor Anna is married to Dean. They have two children, and one very spoiled cat. Pastor Anna enjoys reading, walking, gardening, learning about history, and playing with websites and databases -- as long as there is a backup. Email: [email protected]

Our congregation offers a full array of spiritually enriching ministries designed to deepen faith and lift our outreach into our community. We invite you to worship with us and participate in our many ministries when you are in the Shenandoah Valley. If you are a resident of our area and looking for a church home, we invite you to join us in worship and service to our Lord Jesus.

01/18/2025

Services will be canceled for both churches on Sunday, January 19th due to the forecasted inclement weather.

12/21/2022
03/25/2020

Worship schedule changes and cancellations will be announced on the home page of the parish website (mvplutherans.org), on the church phone answering machines (St. Luke: 540-459-5459, and Mt. Zion: 540-459-4899), and through the parish email service. Pastor Anna and the council presidents of St. Luke and Mt. Zion will be guided by public health recommendations in making decisions about when it is wise to gather again for worship. Before you come to church, please check. We will also activate the phone trees, but please don't hesitate to contact people if you are not sure they are up to date. It's better for someone to hear something a few times, than not to hear it at all. We all need to work together and support one another. Thank you!

03/13/2020

Following the recommendation of the Office of the Bishop, the council presidents of St. Luke and Mt. Zion and I have agreed that in order to protect those among us who are especially vulnerable to the covid-19 virus, we will be cancelling worship and all other in-person meetings through Wednesday, April 1.
I'll be looking into ways to share prayer and other resources online. I would also like us all to pray together each day at noon. If we can't meet together for a little while, we can still pray together! Let's commit to the people of Mt. View Parish praying at the same time each day, a time each day that I hope works for early birds and night owls alike. 🙂

I also ask you to check in with one another and with neighbors who may need some extra help.

I'd like to pass on this message from the synod office and Bishop Robert Humphrey:

" As the church, this is an opportunity for us to act as faithful, responsible witnesses in our communities. We act, not out of fear, but out of genuine care and concern for those most vulnerable in our midst – those of us who are older; those of us who have chronic health conditions; those of us who care for those impacted by this virus. We act unselfishly for the sake of others and our communities. While we act with full confidence that “nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39), there may be times when we should be separated (at least physically) from one another."

Let us pray: Gracious God, you are always with us, in times of joy, in times of sorrow, and in times, as now, of watching and waiting. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. Uphold us with your love, and give us the wisdom and strength we need. Help us in our confusion, and guide us in our actions. Heal the sick, console the afflicted, protect the helpless, and deliver any who are in peril, for the sake of your great mercy in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Peace +

Pastor Anna
