Lessons from Philippians 4 ►

Top 10 Lessons from Philippians 4
1. Rejoice Always
Philippians 4:4 encourages us to "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" This isn't just a suggestion; it's a call to live joyfully regardless of circumstances. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit and a testament to our faith. When we choose to rejoice, we reflect the light of Christ to those around us, showing that our hope is not in worldly things but in the eternal promises of God.

2. Be Gentle and Gracious
In Philippians 4:5, Paul writes, "Let your gentleness be apparent to all. The Lord is near." Gentleness is a powerful witness in a world often marked by harshness and conflict. By embodying gentleness, we demonstrate the love and patience of Christ, inviting others to experience His peace and grace through our actions and words.

3. Do Not Be Anxious
Philippians 4:6 offers a profound antidote to anxiety: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." This verse reminds us to turn our worries into prayers. By trusting God with our concerns, we acknowledge His sovereignty and open our hearts to His peace, which surpasses all understanding.

4. Embrace the Peace of God
The promise in Philippians 4:7 is one of divine peace: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This peace is not dependent on external circumstances but is a gift from God that protects our hearts and minds. It is a peace that reassures us of His presence and faithfulness.

5. Focus on the Positive
Philippians 4:8 encourages us to dwell on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. By focusing on these things, we align our thoughts with God's truth and cultivate a mindset that honors Him. This positive focus transforms our perspective and influences our actions, leading to a life that glorifies God.

6. Practice What You Have Learned
In Philippians 4:9, Paul urges, "Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." It's not enough to simply know the truth; we must live it out. By applying biblical principles in our daily lives, we experience God's peace and become effective witnesses for Christ.

7. Find Contentment in Every Situation
Philippians 4:11-12 teaches us about contentment: "I have learned to be content regardless of my circumstances." Contentment is a learned skill, rooted in trust in God's provision. Whether in abundance or need, we can find satisfaction in Christ, knowing that He is sufficient for all our needs.

8. Draw Strength from Christ
Philippians 4:13 is a powerful reminder of our source of strength: "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." This verse encourages us to rely on Christ's power rather than our own. With His strength, we can face any challenge and fulfill the purposes He has for us.

9. Trust in God's Provision
Philippians 4:19 assures us, "And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." This promise invites us to trust in God's provision, knowing that He is aware of our needs and is faithful to provide. Our confidence in His provision frees us from worry and allows us to focus on serving Him.

10. Give Glory to God
Finally, Philippians 4:20 reminds us to give glory to God: "To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen." Our lives are meant to reflect His glory. By living in a way that honors Him, we fulfill our ultimate purpose and point others to the hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ.

STOP THAT!
Where do so many of our troubles start? In thoughts. They connect to our emotions, and emotions relate to the spirit and heart, and brain. Resulting in being e sick or healed or JOY happy. If, we are Spirit-filled and submit all thoughts, we can only listen to Him to correct, watch or stop our thoughts! Stop The past, arguments, disappointments, indiscretions, lost friendships, hurt, pain, anger, death and sorrow, how bad we feel, how sick we are, and the losses we have. All the negative deceptions, the lies, and the absolute power of Satan whispers or our grief and shame produce. Listen to these words from Paul, Beloved, "to help build you up, not tear you down.
We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude raised in defiance of the actual knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. 6 Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion as soon as you choose complete obedience." The cross is not only where our sin is paid for, where the devil is conquered, but the shape of Christianity.

GOD IS DEVELOPING YOU IN THE DARKROOM.

Today I had a picture/vision of an old darkroom where photographic film was being developed to make prints.

When I was a kid, we didn’t have digital cameras or cell phones with instant access to the images we had snapped. To take a photograph required a camera, into which you inserted a film with a certain amount of exposures. Once you had used up the film, it was left with a pharmacy for 5 or 6 days. The photographic expert would then take it into a darkroom and, using different chemicals, the images would be slowly developed.

The room had to be completely dark to allow the processing of light-sensitive photographic materials. If the film was exposed to light too early, the negatives would be ruined. The image would never be produced. It was destroyed.

I believe God has many of His people in what seems like a darkroom right now. It feels as if you’re hidden but you’re actually being developed. You might even think you’re being punished but you’re being prepared.

It seems as if God is moving too slowly or things are taking too long. Others who started after you appear to be so much further on. You want to be exposed now. You want your gifts to be recognized, to step into your destiny, to be noticed for your talents and abilities, to reach the next level or phase of your journey.

The reality is that while you’re trying to be discovered by people, God is more interested in developing Christ-like character and authenticity within you.

You want to accelerate the process while God wants to grow you on the inside so that what is within you is stronger than the culture around you.

Don’t try to pull open the dark room door prematurely or else the fully developed image of Christ will never get forged on the inside of you.

God has a long-term plan for you. Therefore He will take as long as it requires to develop and prepare you.

He is not looking for more people to parade across a platform. He’s seeking men and women who have been crushed so that what’s inside of them can flow out into the world around them. He doesn’t just want you to be more gifted – He wants you to be anointed. Gifting impresses people. The anointing breaks the yoke of oppression from people.

You need to understand that just because you’re perhaps not visible, it doesn’t mean that you’re not valuable. You’re hidden, and you assume you’re buried, but you’ve actually been planted.

There’s a deep work going on under the surface which can’t be seen but is deeply significant. There’s unseen movement and growth and expansion taking place. However, the day will come when your roots will be fully developed and your shoots will break through the soil. You will be firmly established and unshakeable.

Don’t despise the darkroom or try to fast-track the development of the Father in your life. Await His perfect timing. Trust the process. God is doing more than you can understand right now. The image He’s forming for your future is so much greater than you could ever conceive or imagine.
