The McHenry County Environmental Defenders and partners will host the first of their recycling drives on April 15 at Milky Way Park, 300 Lawrence Road, in Harvard from 9-until noon. Items accepted include electronics, documents for shredding, solid styrofoam, packing peanuts, textiles, fluorescent light bulbs, and household batteries. A small fee will be collected for batteries and fluorescent bulbs and there will also be a charge for large electronics.

Compassion in Action volunteers will be helping at the Environmental Defenders of McHenry recycling drive on April 15th, Milky Way Park, 300 Lawrence Road, Harvard,IL from 9am until noon.
Items accepted for recycling are electronics, documents for shredding, Styrofoam, textiles, fluorescent light bulbs and alkaline batteries. There is a small fee for batteries, light bulbs and large size electronics.

It's such a blessing to not only welcome a veteran to experience healing horsemanship at BraveHearts, but the ability to have a family member accompany them is extra special! Shout out to U.S. Army veteran, Michelle, and her daughter, Sarah, who have been riding with us for over a year and actively support our barns as volunteers. Sarah is also preparing to compete again this year in Special Olympics! 🤩

We are so excited to begin this year’s Adopt A Grandparent Garden Program and we need your help!

Whether you sponsor, volunteer or just share our information you will help make a difference to the low income seniors in our programs.

Gardening aids in the health and happiness of seniors. Studies have proven that getting your hands dirty in a garden can provide great physical and mental benefits for senior health. Even the experience of caring for and nurturing a plant from a tiny seedling to maturity can bring a lot of joy!

This program provides custom made container gardens to our participating seniors and supports a community garden project that provides fresh fruits, vegetable, herbs and flowers that are distributed to the seniors weekly.

We are now seeking those that would like to Adopt A Grandparent. The $25.00 sponsorship covers the cost of their custom made container garden and fresh items distributed weekly.
