Join us on Zoom as we begin studying one of the most fascinating but admittedly challenging books of the Bible! Starting October 1st at 7pm, we will study the book of Revelation together. This fall, we will study the first half of the book and return after Easter for the second half. Come and see how this strange book uses its highly symbolic imagery to communicate a powerful message of comfort for God’s people undergoing pressure and persecution in the world but also a sobering call to repentance for those individuals or communities who are too comfortable compromising their faith for the sake accommodating to the idols of the world. As an “Apocalyptic” prophecy, this book aims at providing a heavenly perspective on world history under the lordship of Christ, who was crucified but is now risen. Jesus himself in the lens and pattern for how Christians are called to live out their faith. Even though from a worldly perspective, it looks like God’s world is out of control under the forces of evil and empire, just like with the cross of Jesus, we see God nevertheless accomplishing his purposes in surprising ways that bids Christians to continue in the way of Jesus and God’s true Kingdom, which will ultimately and eternally renew and transform all things!
