Wreaths Across America 2025

Thank you to all who helped organize this year’s Wreaths Across America event, and to those whom contributed, attended, and/or helped with the laying of wreaths at Mt. Hope, Rocky Hill, Oak Hill, and St. Johns. 🌲🇺🇸

Wreaths arrived in Woodsboro today! 🌲🇺🇸

Wreath laying ceremony begins Saturday at Noon, followed by distribution of wreaths, and placing at all four Woodsboro area participating cemeteries.

5 DAYS UNTIL Wreaths Across America day! Come & join in on our local commemoration this Saturday, at Noon 🇺🇸

Mount Hope Cemetery will sponsor WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA again this year, with the laying of over 325+ wreaths on Veteran graves at Mt. Hope, and Rocky Hill, Oak Hill, and St. John’s cemeteries.

A Wreath Laying Ceremony at Mt. Hope will take place on SATURDAY, DEC. 13th at NOON, followed by wreaths being placed within the cemetery.

Everyone is invited & encouraged to attend. Any family members of Veteran’s present that day will be invited to place a wreath on their loved one’s grave. After those are distributed, the Woodsboro Boy Scouts Troop 1011 will assist in placing all remaining wreaths. Wreaths at the other 3 cemeteries will be laid after the Ceremony at Mt. Hope.

If you would like to contribute to this holiday season commemoration by helping offset the cost of wreaths, please send your donations made payable to MT HOPE CEMETERY, P.O. BOX 481 WOODSBORO, MD 21798. Please notate “Wreaths” on your check’s memo line & try to have your donation to us by December 6th (our deadline to pay for wreaths).

☀️REMINDER☀️

Mowing season is in full swing! This means no decorations, solar lights, etc. should be placed on the ground around monuments. Glass vases/containers are not permitted at anytime.

Mowing is expensive, and we’re fortunate to have mowing contractors that provide quality work within our budget. Please help keep their work safe and unobstructed so they continue to service Mt. Hope Cemetery for years to come.

Thank you for your cooperation!

p.s. If cemetery workers remove items, they are typically placed alongside the building. Items not claimed after the season are discarded.

“WREATHS OUT” Day - Wreaths Across
America

Please join in helping to remove veteran wreaths placed for this past Christmas season. Anyone able to help is asked to meet at either Rocky Hill Church Cemetery, or Mt. Hope Cemetery this Saturday, Jan. 18th at 11am. Please gather and receive instruction for wreath & flag removal.

It may be chilly out, but many hands make quick work!

We’d like to thank our community for the wonderful support & participation this past Saturday for our area cemeteries first time participating in Wreaths Across America Day. A special thanks to Dahl Drenning & Dwight Reynolds for leading the ceremony, as well as the Woodsboro American Legion-Post 282, and Woodsboro Boy Scouts -Troop 1011. Again this Veteran’s Day, Church bells will ring at 11am, followed immediately by the playing of Taps at Woodsboro’s War Memorial at the north end of Main St. Everyone is welcome to gather at the War Memorial prior to 11am to participate in this brief tribute. 🇺🇸
