"Abraham's Faith"
We are all living “in-between” moments—between past and future, uncertainty and hope, where life is not always clear or settled. This Sunday, we will reflect on the journey of Abram (Genesis 12:1-9 & Romans 4:13-22), discovering what it means to trust God in the in-between seasons of life.

Abram stepped into the unknown, leaving behind what was familiar, trusting in God’s promise even when he could not see the outcome. His story reminds us that faith is not about having everything figured out, but about trusting the One who leads us. It is about holding onto God’s promises in both our present reality and the life to come.

We are also reminded that this faith is not just personal—it calls us to be a blessing to others. As we trust God, we are invited to live with open hands, sharing what we have, caring for our families and neighbors, and reflecting God’s love in everyday ways.

"The Divine Purpose of Human Beings"

Genesis 1:26-31a, Matthew 28:16-20
This Sunday, we are invited to remember who we are and why God created us. In Genesis 1, we hear the beautiful truth that each one of us is made in the image of God—created not just good, but very good. That means every person carries sacred worth and dignity, and we are called to honor that in one another.

In Matthew 28, Jesus sends us out with purpose—to make disciples and to share God’s love with the world. We do not go alone; Christ promises to be with us. As we go, we are invited to become people through whom others can experience God’s presence—especially by caring for those in need and extending compassion to all.

Come and explore this calling with us. Let us grow together as people who reflect God’s image and share God’s goodness in our everyday lives.

"Soul Vaccination"
Acts 2:1-17 & 10:1-36
We are joined this Sunday by Reverend Rich Rubietta from Abunding Ministries who considers himself a modern day circuit rider bringing upbeat and family-friendly worship services to churches. A “Musician-ary,” Rich helps congregations redevelop and rediscover their voice in worship.
Come hear Rev. Rich speak on “Soul Vaccination” and answers the question, "What does 14 peoples speaking in different languages 2000 have to do with me?" and join in his wonderful music ministry.

"Restore the Kingdom Now"
Acts 1:1-11 / Luke 24:44-53
When the disciples saw the risen Jesus, they were ready for a revolution. They asked, "Lord, are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now?" They had the King; they wanted the power; they wanted the results right now.
How often do we feel the same? In a world filled with war, injustice, and economic anxiety, we find ourselves impatient. We want God to "fix it" immediately. But in our impatience, we often fall into the trap of making our own gods or trying to control the world ourselves—closing our eyes to the suffering of those around us.
This Sunday, we explore Jesus’ profound response to our "Now." He shifts our focus from calculating the end to becoming witnesses.

Acts 17:22-31 / John 14:15-21 How do we find a God who feels far away? This Sunday, we explore the journey from an “unknown God” to a deeply personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Drawing from the Apostle Paul’s experience on Mars Hill in Athens, we discover that God isn’t a distant image made of stone or silver, but the very source of our life—the one in whom we “live, move, and exist.”
What is God asking us to do today? Perhaps the Holy Spirit is speaking through the person sitting right next to you. Let us open our hearts to the Spirit’s leading and find God in the simple, sacred acts of taking care of one another and listening very carefully to each other. Join us as we learn to walk humbly, respecting every person as a “Spirit-holder.”

"Believe Because of the Works"
1 Peter 2:2-3, 9-10 / John 14:1-14
This Sunday, we’ll reflect on how easy it is to lose sight of God and create “idols” shaped by our own desires—just as the Israelites did in the wilderness. Even today, we can be tempted to seek comfort, control, and quick answers rather than trusting the living God.
Through Jesus’ words, we’ll explore what it means to have a heart that truly follows God—not driven by selfish gain, but shaped by compassion for a hurting world. As followers of Christ, we are called not only to believe, but to live out our faith through love and action. Come and discover how God invites us to move beyond self-centered faith into a life of deeper trust, compassion, and Spirit-led purpose.

Acts 2:42-47, John 10:1-10
This Sunday, we’ll explore what it really means to live an abundant life. Jesus says abundant life is not about having more, but about trusting in God, living with gratitude, and knowing who we are as God’s people. In a world that constantly tells us to want more and compare ourselves with others, how can we find true contentment and joy?
We’ll reflect on how abundant life begins with Christ and grows in community—when we live with glad, generous, and grateful hearts. Come and discover a deeper, richer way of living that Jesus invites us into.

"Change Hearts and Lives"

Acts 2:14a, 36-41 / 1 Timothy 2:3-7
This Sunday, we dive into Acts 2 and 1 Timothy to ask: What brings us together? Peter’s message to the crowds wasn't just about a historical event; it was a call to "change our hearts and lives." We often think we build a church through our own efforts, but the scripture reminds us that it is God who brings people into the community. Being "saved from this generation" means rejecting the world's focus on fame and self-interest, and instead embracing the truth: that God’s invitation is for everyone, especially those "far away." Who is God calling us to reach today?

"The Twin"
Our guest preacher while Pastor Dave is away is Pastor Carey Williams Bebar. Pastor Carey is the Director of Christian Education for Gary UMC in Wheaton. You can find more info about her here. Please join us in welcoming Pastor Carey to our church this Sunday!

Pastor Carey will be bringing us her Reflection "The Twin":
Thomas was called "the Twin." While the reasons for this name are debated—some say he was a sibling of Matthew, others that he bore a likeness to Jesus—what stands out is that we can share in both his doubt and his faith; in him, we find a twin in our own questioning hearts.
