The Church has a distinct advantage over the world when it comes to education – the Holy Spirit. As Daniel 1:20 indicates, children of God should outperform the world. Therefore, we acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is the distinguishing factor in our school and the students’ primary helper and teacher. Further differentiating CSA is the way we have organized our classrooms. Unlike schools that are
organized by grades and students ages, at CSA we have chosen to implement a model that is closer to a home school or one-room schoolhouse format. Our goal is to impart a love of learning to our students that will last a lifetime. Therefore, we employ a self-study, teacher-lead model that empowers students to “learn to learn” rather than just teaching them subject matter. This allows students to learn at their own pace while developing an important learning skill that will last them a lifetime. It is not uncommon for students to grow 1-2 grade levels in a year using this approach. Furthermore, studies have shown that students that learn in this environment make the transition to college much easier and faster. In addition to the one-room schoolhouse format, our targeted student-to-teacher ratio is 1:10, which facilitates greater personal attention. And last but not least, a huge CSA difference is how we tailor design every student’s curriculum to match the student’s academic level and learning style, while helping to prepare and focus them on their individual call. For example, if a student is called to business, they might be asked to study the great business leaders in history as opposed to just hearing a generic, one size fits all history lesson.
